Many many months ago I noticed I started to have problems swallowing, got an upper GI done and was told it was just acid reflux. I continued to take prevacid and hoped for the best but still had repeat symptom. about 7 months ago i noticed i had swollen glands off and on in my throat along with my under arms being swollen and sore. After a few months It continued to get worse and I started to have random bouts of aches and pains behind and underneath my ears wrapping around my neck and headaches that came hand in hand. Finally got my blood tested, thinking i d have no results and still be in the dark and low and behold i have lyme. I knew very little about this disease and kind of took it for a joke considering I had no bite mark nor found a tick on my body. Now that ive recently been diagnosed with lyme all my random symptoms started to fall together and the more i read the more it seems to fit all my symptoms. First antibiotic amox i had an allergic reaction to, next try is doxycycline but i hear its not very tolerable. All i know is the swollen glands and aches in my head and neck are happening more often and i feel exhausted. I really hope this one helps. Any new info helps as this is new to me and i have yet to get to a LLD

What state our you in? When I first found out I had Lyme in 2012, I was so scared, and confused. This site has helped me so much, also there is a facebook site for Lyme disease, where people help each other with Lyme disease doctors.

This disease is scary , and painful, but I have met some wonderful people a long the way, people with Lyme can have the most compassion in the world.

Hope you find a doctor soon.

Justme: Were you much better after the doxy...and how did the knotweed, cats' claw and eleuthero work for you?

Wondering because I am currently on the knotweed, cat's claw and will be adding the eleuthero soon...

Melissa - Try to find a LL doc soon as you can...this forum will help - post in your subject lyme - "looking for LLMD/LLND in (put your state) and people on this forum will help you.

Im in new jersey. And it is a little overwhelming because I didnt know how bad it could get. I will post and see if i can find a close LLD closest one ive found was in king of prussia pa which is like an hour and a half or more away

Hi Melissa you need to find a llmd to help you asap. You can try a course of doxy at a lower dose to help minimize symptoms. Usually only higher doses are hard to tolerate. Perhaps someone on this board can help you find a doctor in your locale. Hope you see improvement soon.

I believe i m on 100mg 2x a day, i started today and so far not too bad. The usual occasional nausea and dizziness. I ll see how it goes for the second dose, i make sure i keep something in my stomach. Im going to follow up monday with the KOP dr and see what the visit charge is because I currently have no insurance. Thank you for the well wishes

Hi Melissa I started on the lower dose doxy. It immediately helped the heart symptoms palps etc. Lyme is a serious disease and it can wreak havoc if left untreated. What part of Jersey are you in as I think we may have members here in your area.

Im in south jersey. So far the doxy has made me feel pretty horrible. Random bouts of extreme nausea and dizziness and flu like symptoms, or some days 80% of the day i ll have all symptoms on bad days. Trying to keep up with taking it. Its also been making my anxiety a lot worse and giving me depression. I have yet to make it to a LLMD but considering calling monday. Its just hard because I work all week and don t have the time to make calls throughout the day. My main curiousity and concern with getting to an LLMD is to clarify where I am with this disease and possibly what I can do to help my fatigue while still taking antibiotic. I barely eat, i m too nauseous

Start a new thread saying you're looking for a LLMD in PA in the title so more people will see it.

Are you doing any detoxing? If not, that could be causing some of your symptoms. Read through the "New to Lyme" thread at the top of the page to learn several things you can do to detox, plus other good info. on things you can do yourself to help.
