On the news today - little girl having seizures - family told she was going to have a very short life.
They bought marijuana oil (not permitted by Health Canada) and since giving it to her....hasn't had a seizure. From 200 seizures a day to none - for two weeks so far. Two drops a day.

Her grandfather - an ex cop has become a marijuana advocate.

I wonder if one day it will be used to treat an array of medical problems.

Don't know if it can be helpful with Lyme disease or not...but who knows?

I heard about people using marijuana for Lyme but am not quite sure what they do.

A retired Canadian LLMD told me that people with Lyme are using marijuana for pain.
But, maybe it has other uses, too. If it treats seizures...maybe other neurological problems, too???

From what I understand it can be very helpful for Lyme and to find one low in THC and high in CBD. I had it recommended to me, and was already looking into it before that. If anyone has tried it I would be interested in hearing more. Apparently the oil is the best way to go.

Yes-- I know personally of Drs prescribing the Cannabis oil for pain from Lyme. The oil "Charlotte's Web" was created for a little girl who moved to Colorado to be able to take the oil topically to reduce her seizures. CNN had a wonderful segment about 4 or 5 months ago on it.

Like Joyful mentioned it should be extremely low THC and high CBD- this means you will not get high (per say) - they give it to children, and the medicinal qualities of the CBD will relieve pain. There's also a spray for the throat and of course edibles, like in chocolates, and the ever so favorite brownies. I do not imbibe but LOooVE the idea that this natural herb is helping improve lives all over the world. It's also used for those with Parkinson's and obviously those going through chemo.

There are a couple of Mom's on the ACN PANS/PANDAS/Lyme forum who are using CBD oil with their children and having very promising results. The consensus seems to be that CBD oil acts as an anti-inflammatory.

One of the story's is just a little short of miraculous - after being homebound for 2 years because of OCD, one child is now quite functional. This happened within 2 days of starting the CBD protocol.

I use medical marijuana for my chronic pain, seizures and in emergencies for my low blood sugar, and have made my own medications from it and it has helped TREMENDOUSLY!!! I fully support the research and use of medical marijuana and how it can help with different issues in the body.

It may be healthier to take Medical Marijuana oil for pain than some of the pain meds that are prescribed.
I was considering taking Lyrica - but it's not something you can take as needed - you need to take it every day...and because of that, and of course the side effects/risks...I've decided to tough it out.

But, maybe medical marijuana is a good option...you don't get "high" from it apparently.

Does anyone know where to get/ purchase this healing oil?
Must you be in Colorado or WA ? Need Prescription for medical marijuana? What Are CBD's ? Does hemp oil used for salad dressings have any CBD's or healing properties?

I have a friend using oil for cancer but has to have THC, she is in Canada where they have medical marijuana. Have known of people using it for pain and could use some myself for all over joint pain. Interesting about Parkinson's as my brother-in-law may wish to have some relief from that dreadful disease.
Heard the scare was brought on years ago because it was known to have incredible healing effects.

River-- glad you're finally figuring out what's been going on with you and receiving a diagnosis. And yes isn't this forum helpful?!? It satiated my curiosity and helped me feel supported throughout most of 2013... Thank you mods and members!

My Dr is in San Diego-- and gave me a scrip for inflammation....high CBD oil with low THC levels of course,

As far as legality -- not sure about individual states, but know most modern-day weed dealers are more sophisticated than one would think and are privy to varieties (weather oil, an e-cig, an edible or throat spray) to high CBD and low THC contents, that which makes one "high"

Teragram-- been thinking about you-- how's everything?! Did you ever try colonics? I remember we were discussing them late last year...

Tera... I wouldn't know the strains but from what I understand as long as it is high CBD content and low THc ( which is the " heady stuff like the "high" feeling "

Whenever i ingest/inhale cannabis.. I seriously get similar herx reactions to taking herbs and anti biotics.. I hate to be that guy, I swear lyme effects lyme in some way... It's just really weird for me.. it's not horrible..I can just feel my head get dizzy and tirednes... then an hour later I feel awesome.

I have bartonella and Lyme and my main symptoms are exhaustion and severe nerve pain.

Medical MJ was just recently approved in Iowa (beginning July1st, I think) but, only for people with seizure issues and one has to have a medical MJ card / rx through a doctor. This has brought up the issues of having to travel out of state to purchase it, as well as having to bring it back through states where it may not be legal (transporting).

Apparently, it took a state legislator having a kid (or maybe it was a grandkid) that had seizures before state lawmakers finally began discussions and passed a law. Seems if it doesn't effect them personally, they don't take something as seriously.

It's a step in the right direction but, still presents issues when transporting the "drug" back to your home state.

I use marijuana for my nausea and pain. Never used to until I got sick. It is way better than addictive pain killers. I went to ER a few weeks ago for horrible leg pain and they gave me percocet, it made me so sick. Montel Williams is a huge medical marijuana activist, it really helps patients with MS.
