The article is worthwhile and very interesting ( even though I have no idea who wrote it or their credentials ) - of course, there are aspects that, like most, are pure conjecture, but there are a few points that hit home with me:
- Plaquenil was probably the worst thing I ever took
- Mepron was a close second to Plaquenil
I did nothing but get worse on both, and I mean WORSE not "herx"
- The article should not have tossed artemisinin in the same sentence as "immune suppressors" - artemisinin does NOT suppress the immune system and that is NOT how it is effective .. Artemisinin causes a chemical reaction when it comes in contact w/ iron, and these red blood cells that contain the parasite ( or cancer for that matter ) contain high amounts of iron ...
I do appreciate the fact that the author is thinking outside the box as far as treatment for babesia ... When I was barely able to function on Mepron and getting worse by the day, my "LLMD" told me to double ( !!! ) the dosage ... That way of treating the patient is completely irrational and dangerous ...
As a person who is so cynical and jaded, I have to wonder if Mepron has been the drug of choice because of its $1200-$1500 per month price tag . . . .
Although I do not know the credentials of the author, I applaud them for speaking up and not simply being a parrot of hysterical fear mongers ie Schaller
I spoke with a pharmacist representative that works for GlaxoSmithKline, the makers of Mepron and he said the will discontinue that medication. He said it is very expensive to make and that the sales aren't what they would like for it to be. I think I knew more about
the drug than he did.
