J.R. - I have those exact same experiences on/off. I find that when I am getting a lot of activity in my eyes - peripheral flashes, floaters etc that is when I get a lot of those sensations of thinking I see something out of the corner of my eye, like a shadow or a bug flying around me,but there is nothing - it is the weirdest thing that used to freak me out in the beginning, now I know to monitor it and find that it does indeed happen when the Lyme is more active in the head / eyes. As for sounds, I can relate to that too - sometimes it goes hand in hand with the vision thing. Like Mister Mike, when the critters, Lyme, are active, sound seems so much more pronounced - there have been times that I have to turn off the tv, cannot talk on the phone, or close the door because any kind of noise - talking, birds chirping just tortures me. On good days when the Lyme is not as active, nothing bothers me - I even enjoy and want to hear music, birds singing etc. It is all so strange and exhausting too, this Lyme. I can take aches and pains anywhere in the body, but I just will never get used to something attacking my brain and eyes - that is just the hardest thing to deal with.
