Who all has been to this LLND? I am wondering how much he pushes the supplements that he's selling.
If I end of seeing him...I will not be able to afford much...sometimes that Pi--es off the docs.

Well, Saturday can't come soon enough - hoping the LLND is good and can clinically diagnose me...and start treatment. I'd much rather get treatment on the island - at least until I can get back to work and afford the trip to the mainland.

He doesn't push any supplements. He makes recommendations on what you can use to treat.

Treating Lyme is going to cost money, unfortunately no matter where you go that is currently the case.

So ya you're going to have to buy lots of supplements to get well for sure. But it's nice to have an LLND to guide your treatment so you don't waste money on stuff you don't need like I did.

Does Dr. C. sell the supplements he recommends...or can they be bought at the Health Fd Store?

Usually the ND's supps cost more...

Yes, I know i will be spending some $$, but at least the abx I can get 80% money back, as well as the ND appt.

If I can get a bit of improvement - even 20-30% - some symptom relief...then I can work couple days a week...and then I'll be able to spend more cash on the treatments.

Usually, the supplements doctors sell are better quality, with not extra stuff in them that we don't need.

There are also some good quality supplements sold in health food stores too.

It all gets to be so expensive....especially when we've been undiagnosed for months or years...unable to work...and have nothing left to spend on our care. It's such a shame.

Hi Girlie. You can buy the supplements there... But always check amazon for maybe the best possible prices. Again he doesn't push things on you and you can buy them from where ever you want. There is a good Canadian source of herbs that is herbie's herbs.

You can buy Byron white formulas in office. They are costly though.

For some stuff I actually recommend buying from the states as it is cheaper. Check out the treatlyme website store you can buy from there. Good priced banderol & samento and the HMF forte is good price. Also Meriva -500 is an excellent product.

I know it sucks :( . Lyme disease is one that real drains you financially, emotionally, and physically... For me I spent $20000 lol. Omg. But getting your health back ... priceless.

I agree 100% with Garden Peace. Go with what the Lyme doctors recommend and sell. Also they are still reasonably priced.

I highly recommended the website treatlyme.

I think that core protocol and those supplements are pretty good.

My symptoms? Well could I say torturous? I would be going on and on forever... Okay maybe this is a good moment to reflect on this whole Lyme experience. I also caught bartonella and that can be pretty intense too! My disease hit me hard, but when I think back on it, the initial symptoms were actually bartonella symptoms.

Jeez I just don't know where to start it was so bad. And it varied so much from day to day.
-joint aches pretty much all over, both of my knees were the worst.
-stiff neck, my neck would even make creeking sounds
-stiff lower back
-body felt like it was on fire (intense inflammation)
-intense anxiety (bartonella)
-insomnia (bartonella)
-muscle twitches
-muscle spasms
-achy jaw
-ice pick headache
-meningitis/encephalitis
-intense fatigue
-feeling like I was choking in the neck
-tingles
-automatic nerve movements for facial muscles like eyes blinking automatically
-tingles in brain
-brain fog
-problems speaking to others and can't think of the word to use
-confusion
-disorientation
-intoxication, I felt like I was drunk off 8 beers but a highly unpleasant diseases like drunk. I realized I should not be at work in this condition.
-see spirochetes in my vision
-blood shot eyes in the morning sometimes (bartonella likely)
-strange rashes that come and go, usually more so after showers
-shaking
-testicular pain
-stabbing in the chest like sensation. Sternum area.
-intense nausea sometimes with some meals. So food sensitivity that i never had before. (Ironically resolved by taking abx)
-my vision was flashing one time.
-tinnitus randomly in my right ear, for some reason didn't happen in my left ear.
-one time my whole lower face was on fire. (Initial infection)
-dizziness,
-low blood pressure
-low body temperature
-cold intolerance. I was freezing.
-my skin became pale
-memory issues, cognitive dysfunction.
-strange vibrations. Esspecially in my brain. They are electric like kind of water flowing or around 15 Hz or cycles per second.
-just pain, lots of pain.

Anyways the whole situation was just pure hell. I never imagined a disease could be so torturous.

And now ... My symptoms are ... Occasional tingling in my brain and I sometimes wake up with a floating feeling in my brain. And that's it! It's like night and day really when you compare it. I also just have a feeling if being "toxic" , like my body has been through a serious battle or something. Anyway the disease really wares on you, the treatment does too, and I'm just in general exhausted from it now. But I am doing so much better I should be glad I recovered.

Yup I am seeing him! I actually got 2 LLDs, I went to see an LLMD from the states, and the LLND from Canada. I wanted a second opinion and it's good to have more knowledge i think. Esspecially with an illness like this.

Okay Lymepickle - tell me more.

How long after you were infected did you start treatment? Did you do the mino and the tini at the same time? and for how long? What is Septra DS - when did you add that? And the Plaquenil?

did you do the herbals at the same time as abx?

It sounds like you had it bad and have come so far!

I have a lot of symptoms too...the pain is really bad most days.
I have never had the headaches tho...or the testicle pain (hehe)

Well I got sick so fast. When I look back at it, I think the initial infection was a strong bartonella infection.

Within like 72 hours I already had like a meningitis/encephalitis and my brain was on fire when I woke up in the middle of the night. At that point I knew I had caught a very serious infection.

I immediately started taking 200 mg minocycline daily from the 4th day on! I am lucky I had seen a dermantologist a year before and ended up with a 6 month minocycline prescription but I never did use it because I was generally against antibiotics. So I had that and luckily I was able to get it filled!

Then 2 weeks in, I knew I had to treat this fast, so I ordered the Cowden protocol for the first 2 months, which is samento and banderol. I started that just 1 month post infection.

But at about 1 and a half months post infection I was getting in contact with other people with Lyme and they strongly suggested I see an LLMD, so I did... And I found out about the Dr. in Richmond so I figured I should get in touch with him too.

So just past 2 months past the start of the infection I got on rifampin. So I was on rifampin/minocycline. The LLMD said minocycline is a good drug for Lyme, so I was lucky to be on it right from the start. (But I was STILL that sick!)

Then 3 months past the infection I got on the tinidazole and that really turned things around ! That has been the #1 thing for sure that got me well and it turned things around fast too. It was about a month on that and I felt about 95% my former self. But the first few weeks on it were pretty rough, lots of herxing.

The Septra DS is for Bartonella, another really nasty bacteria! The rifampin that I went on in February really helped that bartonella as well. And I have gone through a bottle of A-Bart, and a few bottles of Nutramedix Houttuynia as well. I think my Bartonella is finished but I am still treating for it.
