help! burning skin!

I am so scared, since last night I have been experiencing burning skin. Could this be herxing??? I am only on 100 mg of doxy twice a day which isn't that much right? I have been on it for a week. Can you herx a week after taking it? I don't see a LLMD till late July... I am so scared right now.

Thank you Louise74 for responding! I have been out in the sun! Hopefully it is a doxy side effect. I didn't even think of that! It happened after I got out of the bath last night. Bothered me all night. I am a nanny and I took the kids to the pool today, I covered myself up pretty good most of the time because I know doxy and sun don't mix. Thank you again for responding, I am not so panicky now.

Burning/irritated skin could definitely be a herx reaction. For sure. How do you feel aside from the burning skin? Yes, you can herx within 24 hours, less, or a week into taking medicine.

Have you been detoxing? I would recommend looking into one of those liver detox teas - you can buy them at most grocery stores/pharmacies and drinking that on the box as directed. There is a lot of other information on how to detox on some old threads as well. I would recommend doing a search, ' lyme detox'

Before you know it late July will be here. Just try to take it day by day until then. It is scary, but there are a lot of sweet members on here that will get you through til your appointment!

Thanks Beth and Girlie! The burning migrates. Right now it is my left arm and right foot, it changes randomly...

When I am in the sun or hot water it definitely makes it worse. I will look into detox! Right now I am doing detox baths and drinking lemon water. I will definitely buy that tea asap.

I really hope I am herxing and its not just the Lyme getting worse. I heard 200 mg of doxy a day isn't that much though so I am not sure if I am experiencing a herx.

The doxy definitely gave me my energy back though! I still have muscle twitches but less frequently than before. I also haven't had pins in needles recently:) but this burning sensation is definitely new....

I really appreciate all the responses and support. I love all my fellow Lyme friends. I can't talk about my symptoms with people who don't have it. They think I am a nut. Love you all.

Thanks girlie I will :) I just read that it is a pretty common side effect of doxy. Really painful side effect! I have to bring the kids to the pool tomorrow.... I am going g to cover myself with towels and wear a big sun hat!
