When I first became ill, I thought I could have MS, even though the Dr. didn't think so.
I had an MRI of my brain...and it came back clear - no plaques. Sometimes they are missed with MS, especially if it is done early on (that's what I was told). But both my GP and the neurologist were confident in telling me I did not have MS. They also didn't think my symptoms were those of MS. MS usually show up in a certain area of the body as a result of damage in a specific area of the brain, and does not migrate. My pain often migrates, changes, even though some is constant.
Also, sometimes Lyme can show up on an MRI of the brain - looking similar to MS. But I think that is late stage.
Is the stiffness in back and legs the only symptom that you are thinking is MS?
Could it be a herx? Hopefully someone more knowledgeable about herxing will reply and give you some advice.
Have you talked to your Dr. about your concerns regarding MS. They may be able to listen to your symptom list and put your mind at ease.
good luck
