Advice - should I ditch my ND?

I have been trying to get a Lyme diagnosis since May. I finally had the Igenex WB testing done, waiting for results.
When the ND did the blood draw, she said when the results come back she will treat me.
My follow-up appt. was scheduled for July 3rd. I called Igenex and they thought the results may not be ready then.
I called the ND and asked the receptionist if I should keep the appt. anyway...and could she based on a clinical diagnosis start abx treatment. She emailed the Dr. who wasn't in at the time...and called me back and said that no, she wouldn't treat until she sees the Igenex results.
So, does that mean if it's negative, she won't treat? So much for a clinical diagnosis. I'm just wondering if I should try a different ND that is further from home and includes an expensive ferry ride (200 return trip) plus our gas and maybe night in hotel.

So: my question: When Dr's do a clinical diagnosis, do they usually still want to see the Igenex test results first? Is my ND just doing what they all do...or should I see the writing on the wall now...and not stay with her?

No, this is the second one. The first one just talked about menopause symptoms...and kept dodging the subject of Lyme disease.

This one has some Lyme patients and does treat with abx.

If they want lab results to cover their a----, then they probably don't treat with a negative...cuz you can't do much covering with that.

Hi Girlie, They should still treat you if they practice by ILADs principles. Mine treated me even though mine came back technically Igenex Negative. I was IND for 2 ** bands and most will count that. Also if you have a low CD57. Hopefully you got tested for that as well. And if you have a very pronounced sympoms. Has the buhner protocol helped you? They also consider your response to treatment.

But mine said he does treat with clinical symptoms. I'm actually going to get retested though to see if it ever did go positive.

Lymepickle - Who treated you first? Did you go to the States?

Did Dr. C. treat on the IND or did he just continue treatment that a LLMD from the States started you on?

I talked to a different ND in Victoria and she asked about the CD57 - which I didn't get.

She said she always gets positive tests from IGenex for her patients.
So, I asked her if mine was negative, would she treat? She said she may put me on 4 weeks abx - doxy 100mg X twice daily.
I questioned her and said, "not 200mg twice daily?" And she said "no, that would be too much".

So that sucks...i guess i could print off Dr. M.Ross' treatment plan that says 200mg x 2. and show it to her.
I think that's pretty standard dosage nowadays.

But, that means cancelling my other appointment.
Thinking of booking 3 appts. Two in Victoria, and one with Dr. C
I will call the day before to the one who did the lab test...and ask her if she will be treating me...if not...cancel...and ask for the results to be emailed. Then call the second one...and if she's not willing to treat, then go to Dr. C. If the first Dr. will treat, then cancel the other two.
If i wait til the results are in and the first doesn't treat, then I'm waiting 3 weeks to see a different one. I'm at the end of my rope for waiting.
This is ridiculous. I can't believe this is what I may have to do to get treatment a.s.a.p.

Lymepickle - I am tempted to book with Dr C. I hope it wont be difficult to get my results from the ND in Victoria. If I do Doxy I want 400 mgs not 200.
Its not right that we have to do so much research to get ourselves well.

I have one more phone call to make and thats to a local ND who has started to treat Lyme with abx now. But Ive been to her before and shes a real "b" and really pushes her supplements. I might be able to talk to her and see if she'll treat with 400 doxy. Then I can get my treatment started and plan to see Dr C in a month or so. And after that I can do phone consults with him and maybe travel to his office once every couple months.
