Hello,
I
was diagnosed with early Lyme Disease in late May 2014. I was put on 100MG
Doxycycline Monohydrate for 21 days. After completing the 21 day antibiotic, I
went back in for blood work (late June). I included my two test results below.
The first is the initial test from late May that was positive. The second is
the test from a few days ago (late June). After seeing the results, I’m finding
it difficult to interpret exactly what they mean. At first I saw positive on this most recent follow up test, and
I kind of freaked out. My doctor did explain that she was happy with the
results and how I reacted to the antibiotics, and that the bacteria is gone. She
said that the test is still showing a positive value for IGM bands because
those Antibodies that my body produced are still present in my system. She also said
that there was no conversion from IGM to IGG, which is a good thing. I am just
looking to see what some of you who have been through this before think about
the results, and if you interpret them in any other way. I am still having some minor
headaches and am still a bit more tired than usual, but definitely not as bad
as it was prior to the initial test/antibiotic. Also, does anyone know if the Antibodies
will ever leave my system? Any thoughts or comments would be greatly
appreciated. Thank you!
