Hello all, first post to this site to see how it is. I recently came down with lyme disease about 4 weeks ago. after about 2 days of flu like symptoms i developed a rash
(no bulls-eye) around the bite. I then immediately the next day went to the doc and he prescribed 100 mg of doxy twice daily for 14 days. This had to happen to me right before vacation, I took 2 days worth of meds and then went camping in the white mountains in NH. I was actually feeling a lot better, for example didn't have sweats or chills and wasn't as fatigued even hiked a mountain. I continued to take them on vacation and when I returned home. after they were all gone I was my good old self again! yay! BUT today approximately 2 weeks after meds were gone the left side of my neck went numb and both my glands under my chin (lymphnodes I think?) were swollen.... and I feel a little fatigued but still did manual labor for work. don't have chills or sweats or a fever or any other symptoms that I had in the previous weeks.So im not sure if its the aftermath of the lyme or what? Anyone's thoughts? I was treated for lyme in its early stage.

I was hoping one of the mods or someone more knowledgeable than me would respond by now, but I will take a stab at it.
Did your Dr do a blood test and actually diagnose you with Lyme? If not, you need to find a Lyme literate Dr that fully understands what's going on and what it takes to knock it out.
Seems that a 14 day supply of antibiotics would not be enough, and you would need a full 30 days treatment or more. Luckily you caught it right away - VERY lucky - and 30 days may be all it takes.

Two weeks is not nearly enough. I kept my son on antibiotics for 4 months! No kidding. This disease is bad if you don't get it early so pound it as hard as you can to get it in the early stages. Believe me, my husband and I have it for 10 years now.

I did not get tested for lyme I had all the symptoms so my doc put me on the Meds since he said I would have to wait 2 weeks for it to show in my test results. What are your thoughts on cyst busters? Are they helpful or not I have read both sides of the story. I also read that detoxing is very important after being treated for lime since symptoms can reoccur from the toxins left in the body after the lime is killed. I also noticed I have an ingrown hair on he back left side of my neck, such was the same side that went numb for 1 day. My doctor gave me a refill on doxy in case I got bitten again but I suppose I could have him refer me to a lime specialist.

he should have tested you anyway, which makes one think he's not that Lyme knowledgeable. I imagine you need to get back on antibiotics right away. Some regular GPs are lyme literate, and they even take your health insurance. When state do you live in? You can find a referral here by posting a thread with the subject Need LLMD in ___
