So, my nephew went to hospital with an excruciating headache. They had to give him morphine it was so bad. Did an mri & a cat scan and blood tests. Found out. he had a bleed in his brain. Within 24 hours they said the bleeding had stopped. So gave him meds that " might help the blood go away. Plus they found out he has lyme disease. After many hours they found a bulls eye on his back
SO they let him go home saying NOT to move or talk and they would repeat those tests in 2/3 days. Two days later back in hospital with severe lower back pain. After same type of tests they found he had a bleed in his spine.Brain surgery done. They removed part of his cranium for this and then put it back in place. Then he started swelling up in face and legs. 2nd brain surgery. Took off the part of cranium they had put back and left it off to allow swelling to go down. Right now this is working. Does anyone know if this all could be from lyme disease?

Hi good teacher and welcome to the forum. It's so nice of you to be helping your nephew. I'm so sorry to hear what he has had to endure and you and his parents also. So hard.

He needs to be seen by an LLMD soon so he stands a better chance of getting rid of the infection since it seems it was caught early. You can request names here if you don't know of an by starting a new post stating where you're looking for a LLMD. We can't post names of doctors on the forum. Also, enable your email so people can send you names. Or pass this on to his parents if they want to look into it deeper. Then once he's past his current episode, maybe treatments could be done. Hopefully someone will answer your question soon.

Ive not heard of that specific problem but after ten years of bizarre symps nothing would surprise me. Since theg found out he has lyme are they treating the lyme? Definitely geg an llmd involved since he is going through very serious issues and I would hope they could help in his x
care strategy.

A llmd is a lyme literate medical doctor, usually ILADs trained. If you message me (click on my name) send me an email of your nephews location and I can try to locate some for you.
