Wow, Louise, I'm so sorry that you have this! I found this article on that condition:

I know that Lyme can make the 7th cranial nerve go bonkers causing Bell's Palsy and we have had members post about
terrible pain along their jaw and other areas before, including myself. Neuro Lyme causes demyelination of the nerves - the outer coating of the nerve is stripped away - which can cause a great deal pain and misfiring of the nerves. Maybe this is what is happening to you?
So this doctor doesn't think that Lyme is an infection?
