Is waking up with a sweet taste on your tongue a symptom of Lyme? Thanks.

Yes, achievinggrace, it is a symptom of diabetes. I just wondered if it could also be a symptom of lyme or one of the other infections.

I would guess that it might be a yeast overgrowth. I had that symptom for quite awhile until I got it under control. Is your tongue also a little whitish or yellowish?

Is it only when you wake up, or does it happen throughout the day?

Do you have heartburn?

Thanks for the responses, bluebyyou (also good name :)) and Pirouette. The taste is only when I wake up, and my tongue isn't coated. I have acid reflux--don't know if that's the same as heartburn.

I read somewhere once that waking up with a sweet taste on the tongue can be a symptom of GERD. It might be a good idea to call your doctor, just for peace of mind.
