Finished Meds - Levels Still High HELP HELP!

Okay, I took the Doxy for 21 days.

Doc retested my blood last week to see what my levels were. I don't know what type of tests he has done - I assume basic.

He retested last week because the State Health Dept. requires it as part of their protocol to verify the diagnoses and they also track and report to the CDC.

He hasn't told me this yet - but I'm smart and figured it out for myself.

This morning the girl from his office calls to tell me that my verification test came back positive as well. I had to ask what the level was and she told me the level is 4. Well, anything over a 1 is considered a positive and when I tested the first time on June 30th my levels were 6.69.

She did not know what's next and the doctor is off today.

I am so upset! I need to feel better! I need to work efficiently! I am slammed and cannot afford to take a LOA or NOT be able to do my job well - I am the breadwinner in this family and if my income is significantly reduced - we lose it all.

I just don't know what to think - what should come next. Another round of antibiotics?

Is it possible I've had Lyme longer than since Memorial Day Weekend?

Why would my levels still be at a 4 after taking the meds for 21 days?

I do have recommendations for LLMD already via e-mail from folks on this site but was HOPING that I would not have to resort to that.

Story of my life. It it's weird, the medical community is "in the dark" about it, or standard treatments may not work for all - I GET IT!

I get tuckered out easily. I also have no thyroid from thyroid cancer in 2000 had it removed. So, I have tired issues in dealing with that too. Just switched to new med for that early July - now taking Nature Throid. I really think getting the straight T3 has saved me from suffering full effects of the Lyme.
Sleep screwed up - I'm "tired" but go days without being able to sleep as long as I should.

NO motivation to get things done.

It's a mess.

I guess I can't complain too much. The most demanding things in my life is my job, the cats and my husband. I don't have little ones or teenagers to deal with. I work from home (mostly) so for the majority of the time I don't have to wake early, get out the door, commute to a job and then do it in reverse later in the day. I can squeeze housework duties in during my work day for the most part as well.

I just prefer to be on top of my game mentally and for now through the end of the year work will be at a frantic pace. I just don't want to get too much farther behind than I would have been without the Lyme.

I guess that's what we all want though - to be normal again.

I'm going to have to see about setting up an appointment with one of the LLMD's in the next week or so.
