making sense of old lab results

I was going through my old test results, and I'd like to know if someone can help me make sense of them. From what I remember, the doctors just told me "you have Lyme, take doxy and these herbs".

I was having problems with the cartilage in my left knee. MRI showed tearing of the medial meniscus. The orthopedic surgeon ordered Lyme tests, and sure enough they came up positive. I grew up in CT, and I found ticks on myself several times. Got bitten, but no rash and I never thought I got sick. I felt pretty good when the test results came back. I got really sick when I started treatment. Now I know its because I was herxing a lot and not detoxing....but none of the doctors (naturopath, infectious disease, LLMD) ever told me to detox. All my lab work was done at Quest Diagnostics. Again, none of the docs mentioned Igenex and I was a teen and trusted what the docs & my parents were telling me.

Is the testing I had for Babesia accurate?

I read that band 45 might indicate Ehrliciosis. Is this correct?

I also read band 30 could indicate Mycoplasma. Is this correct?

Does it matter that I was mostly IgG positive for Lyme, but I only showed 1 IgM band once?

When it comes to Lyme it seems nothing really makes sense especially test results but I'll try and answer your questions the best I can.

A negative Babesia result does not mean you are negative. Testing is very inaccurate so you have to go by symptoms but that's not always easy either as they tend to overlap with infections. Drenching night sweats, shaking chills and head pressure seem to pretty specific for Babs.

I'm not really sure about band 45 being specific for Ehrlichiosis. I was negative for this band but IgM + for Anaplasmosis but maybe it's only specific for the true Ehrlichia strain.

I've never heard band 30 was specific for Mycoplasma. I was IgM + for Myco P. and tested positive for band 30 six months later through a diff. lab but it was on the IgG only. Maybe it's specific for Myco Fermentans and not Pneumoniae or maybe my antibodies converted over.

To answer your last question, I don't think it matters with Quest as there's a good chance you may have had tested positive for more IgM bands with a better lab like IGeneX. I find most Lymies test + for more IgM bands than IgG but that's not always the case. With all those + bands plus the positive ELISA it seems there's no doubt you have Lyme especially since you've had tick bites and Lyme-specific symptoms.
