nervous for llmd appt and need advice.

Every person with L/co is unique. There are NO set ways of doing just about anything with this illness.

Some use herbals first and do great. Others use herbals first, then need to go to antibiotics (abx).

Some use abx first, do fine, while others use abx first and don't do well, then go to herbals.

Some use both abx and herbals together and do fine.

My point is, there is no PLAN for a ONE SIZE kind of treatment. If someone tells you there is, they are lying.

Writing down all of your symptoms is really a good idea.
Also, maybe a timeline of your health/symptoms.

Take along any previous medical info that might be helpful, like recent blood work, etc.

And, dr's are also unique in how they choose to treat, L or co first, etc. Your dr will have their own way of doing things, and hopefully will be open to what YOU feel about things.

Personally, from my own recent experience, start the doxy. take it with food even though the bottle says not to. You may even feel some relief from the inflammation. I've started on a low dose 3 wks before my llmd appt, and I'm glad I did. My llmd suggested I stay on that dosage for the next 6 wks, adding low dose ceftin. I personally don't tolerate meds too well, so the low dose for me is a good intro to all that is to come. Slow and steady. That works for me as the herx is tolerable. I'm also taking herbals, but not from this llmd. This is from my own research which was confirmed by a naturopath I was seeing. I'm doing well on both the abx and herbals.

I hope you can relax a bit about the appt. You'll do well, and so will the dr. You're taking a huge step of faith, and you'll know if this is the right dr for you. Dont' hesitate to ask questions about what they're saying to you. Remember, they are working for YOU.
