This article explains why the Dr. resigned from the Clinic that was treating Lyme disease along with other chronic diseases in BC Women's Hospital.
What a shame. So frustrating - I would have been able to go there.

Yep! Sounds like Canada is following the U.S. better than it should!! Doctors here often only spend 7 - 10 minutes with a patient. They really hate to see me coming, as I insist my questions get answered - even if I have to follow them out into the halls!

I like her suggestion about patients writing about their experinces. I wonder who or whag organization would be wrthy of receiving our stories and in a position to garner influence for changes in american medicine. Sounds like she being a medical insider has given Canadian patients good direction. Have any drs suggested how patients in usa could do something similar?

I heard the same thing in Switzerland. I think it's becoming a world-wide phenomenon, at least in first world countries.

J., who is in healthcare, told me that becoming a doctor is a losing proposition, bc doctors have to spend so much time and money on overhead and paperwork, that they no longer make money if they spend time with patients.

Very unfortunately for us, that's why good doctors often don't take insurance or Medicare.

My FNP takes time with her patients and files, but she told me she's often in the office until 10 or 11 p.m.

That is very true. I have two friends who are doctors—or one was. She left the practice.

I don't understand all the details but my LLMD has funding from some outside source. And she only participates in one healthcare plan, which helps, I think. And with all the changes in healthcare this situation is only going to get worse.

I envision a future where foundations are set up and funded that funnel money towards wellness centers (Sponagle, Hansa, etc…), which function as our basic healthcare providers.
