I was looking up natural ways to fight lymes and found this website:

Did anyone ever hear anything or try this?

My doxy prescription ended yesterday and the doc that prescribed it won't give me anymore. I have an appt with LLMD at the end of August, but I am a little worried about the 3 weeks until then what might happen, so I am trying to find something in the interim.

Anyone have any other suggestions of things I can do until I can see this doc? Thanks!

How about trying either Salt/C or Samanto/Banderol ? Maybe Colloidal Silver?

I've tried the monolaurin in capsule form and it makes me feel awful but of course that's just die-off or herxing. I've never stayed on it long enough to get past the herxes in order to feel better. That's the challenge. The herxes were similar to Doxy but more severe (feeling fluey, back muscle pain) with the added joy of fatigue and headaches. It must be targeting similar infections as Doxy did.

Treatment is so individualistic that it takes a lot of experimenting. I've tried samento and banderol and get absolutely no reaction so I know it's a waste of time for me but others can barely tolerate a few drops without significant herxing or exacerbation of symptoms. It's so complex treating these infections.

Hi MS in PA,

Monolaurin has shown effectiveness (antiviral, antibacterial, antifungal) in vitro, I don't contest its efficiency at all. But Lyme Disease is so complex, and very individual (I've done antibiotic and different herbal treatments), that there is just no 'ready made cure' for it. There are so many individial factors to take into account: patient's history, different coinfections, allergies, intolerances, etc...
I'm sure it can help people, taking it as a part of a full programm, but again, very individual and to be discussed with your treating doctor.

It's good though that you have found a llmd, whom you will be seeing soon.
Did you have a look at protocols as Buhner's or Cowden's?

Lyme Disease is caused by the Borrelia bacteria, those bacteria are spirochetes. It doesn't show much knowledge of the disease.

I had a quick look around the website, and I'm not too impressed. These people do not have any degree, and claim things like:
There is also a tremendous amount of research coming out of Europe – especially in Germany. Because of their socialized health system, the governments actually have a motivation to look at natural prevention of diseases!
I am in Europe, money rules the health system = pharmaceutical industry. They may have a motivation, but using that motivation???

Just my 2 cents on the content of the website.

I live in Germany and I must ask what they mean by "socialized health system"

Everyone here must have a "krankenkasse" a private health insurance company which is profit orientated.If you need treatment which is out of the ordinary you could be denied.

Some are more costly than others which determines the level of treatment that you can expect.

If you are not insured.you're in deep trouble and would be asked to fund your treatment yourself........as far as I know one of the true social health care systems is the National Health Service in the UK.

To start, I use coconut oil in many ways - in cooking, as my only skin moisturizer, on my hair - but it is not enough for curing Lyme disease, even with a cyst buster.

If it seems really simple and it actually worked, we would all be flocking to that treatment!!!

Chances are that there is no really simple (3 step) treatment that will cure Lyme except before there are symptoms. Then treatment with Doxy has a pretty good chance at ridding the body of the infection.

Otherwise, if it sounds too good to be true, it is! Treatment for Lyme once a person starts having symptoms can be complicated, as this is a highly complex bacteria that creates a highly complex infection - then add to it the other infections and viruses and the dysfunction in the body that starts to occur - and something simple just won't work to clear everything and balance the body functions back out.

If you wish to take something for the next three weeks, I would suggest looking into Buhner's herbal protocol, as it can be used with antibiotics if you wish, or you can stop Buhner's herbs when you start your other treatments.

Yes, no ready made cure, unless you want to do the entire Cowden protocol, and crawl into bed and almost die of a herx for six months. Not me!!
