Hello,

 

So ever since I got sick I have been referring my skin issues as a disappearing/reappearing rash. My wife brought to my attention the other day that it’s not really a rash, it’s simply skin inflammation. It tends to last only a few minutes at most and can appear anywhere on my body. It rarely appears on my face and it most often appears on my chest and legs. It usually does not hurt or itch. It’s more like a mild annoyance. This was the first symptom I member having before the fatigue, pain, vision and brain issues set in. What’s really weird is sometimes it is an undefined mass but other times it looks like separate lines like I scratched myself.

 

Has anyone ever had this?

Yeah... that's what I thought.. They look similar... Not sure. It comes and goes though and it's not always lines. That's the weird thing. I tested for Bart through IgeneX but it was neg..

I do believe that is bart I used to get the red lines all the time look actually like hives, just because you tested negative for bart doesn't mean you don't have it. All test are not 100% accurate.

And Bartonella is known for suppressing the immune system, just like Lyme. When combined, they help each other suppress the immune response even more, so negative test for Bart is no more surprising than it is for Lyme disease.

Bart has many types of rashes as well, so they are tough to figure out. Do you have many other Bart symptoms? If your Neuro Lyme symptoms are particularly bad, that could point to a Bart infection as well.

My neuro symptoms have been gettng worse over the past few months. More CNS stuff than anything. Other than that I don't really ahve the other Bart issues. My doc is pretty good but he doesn't really tell me what he is doing. I don't think he is treating me for Bart at all though since the test was neg.

Maybe it's time to talk about Bartonella? The tests are pretty unreliable, so it's supposed to be based mainly on symptoms - and if your Lyme treatment doesn't seem to be moving, and you are having those strong CNS symptoms, Bart is a real possibility.

Just a thought.
