I don't know the answer for sure, and I think it could be different for different people, but my son started getting lots of sore throats about 8-10 weeks into his antibiotics treatment. And he'd really only had a couple of sore throats as symptoms prior to treating with antibiotics.
He was getting the sore throats quite often after he ate, but also other times to, one almost every day it seemed (or 5 times a week or so).
His llmd said she thought it was either a Bartonella symptom or yeast (in his throat) and also suspected yeast b/c of lots of tummy aches after food. He also had a fungal rash (by 14 weeks on abx) on his fingers and toes and a lot of gas and some burping. So,she prescribed fluconazole (4 weeks) and he went off antibiotics (at my request, for a break while on fluconazole).
Well, for my son, it was yeast, b/c after the month on the fluconazole those symptoms (sore throats and tummy aches) were gone, thank the Lord!
He's actually doing really well now, about 99% symptom free. He's starting some herbal treatments now with our llmd's guidance.
So, anyway, that's my long answer.
I guess the short answer would be that the sore throat can be a symptom of bartonella (b/c it can swell/infect, however you would say it, lymph glands)
or it could be from the abx, yeast from them, like with my son's case.
