Tested positive on LTT need information

Hi all,

Really excellent forum containing loads of information.

I am recently got tested at the Augsburg clinic. Tested positive on elispot ltt, low cd57 and band 41 on the immunoblot.

I have an appointment booked with a specialist next tues but not holding out much hope for a proper hearing.

I have had symptoms for 6 months and had a bite last October. I'm looking to find out is there a gp or similar I can go to in the uk or Europe that will look at my results and hopefully prescribe enough doxycycline for a long enough to see if my symptoms improve.
In Ireland the doctors here are looking at giving 100mg for 28 days and I just reckon this will leave too many doubts.

Well, it doesn't suprise me that you got bitten here in Germany,Lyme is rampant here.

I wouldn't advise you to come here for treatment,most doctors are clueless.

Have you heard of the Breakspear Clinic in the UK ? Hugh aka Morti81 is probably the best person to contact regarding addresses of LLMDs,I think his email is activated.

If your main concern is getting more Doxy,there are ways and means without traveling.

Just an update from my initial post. I did see the doctor here at home and I got a good response. I was initially given doxy while waiting for his blood tests to come back.

Stayed on that for 7 weeks and then moved onto rifampin 300mg and azithromycin 500mg daily and symptoms are resolving slowly though I'm feeling good and am back into my normal work/excercise routine so not lacking energy etc.

Like others on here I have chlamydia pneumonaie as a co infection which makes treatment more complicated. I current get blood tests every 2 months to look at immune function and chlamydia pneumonaie activity and I will probably be on thei treatment regime for another year at least until my blood testing comes back clean.

What do others think of the treatment regime? It's good that the doctor is willing to treat long term and as usual the normal lyme tests carried out by him didn't show lyme.
