I have so many questions and I have to wait so long to see an LLMD.
I think that I had my first bite at the end of June. Got on abx two weeks ago and awaiting LLMD.
- If time is of the essence, then why don't they fit me in and get me on meds? Isn't this just going to end up being a late stage then? I am almost at the two month mark. I could have co-infections! I will even fly somewhere if necessary. Should I just be sitting here?!
- I am on doxy. Started out at 100 mg twice a day. I started having neurological symptoms, so they upped my dosage to 200 mg doxy twice daily two days ago, but I read that it may be treated with more, and possibly IV (Dr. Burrascara guidelines). But again, I wait.
- I try to eat as well as possible, cutting out calcium products altogether (should I add those at lunch?) and also cut out sugars, gluten, caffeine, alcohol. Mostly each vegetables and protein. Running out of ideas on things to eat.
- I want to take a good probiotic, but my husband brought me home one that is Men's Formula 90 billion refrigerated. I am a female- Will that work? After all, it was $50 and I want it to work! The girl at the store told him yes, but I just want to make sure.
- I want to take a supplement, and he brought home pills. Are the powders better? I feel like returning both of these products and ordering on line.
Does anyone know how long symptoms last if I am a new case of Lyme? Although I caught it fast, it still disseminated really quickly through my body and into my brain (within just 2-3 weeks). (I was bitten last week of June, symptoms first week of July, abx 4 weeks later, abx doubled at 6 weeks later, which is where I am now). I hit a wall and ache all over if I try to do the smallest thing, not to mention vision problems, etc. My life is on hold, but will I ever get to where my husband doesn't have to carry such a load?
I spoke with LLMD over phone, and mentioned that I had Bell's Palsy previously so now he thinks I am a chronic case. I really don't think I am, but started me thinking. I have always felt pretty good. But I have some mysterious inconveniences...
(I lived in Massachusetts from 2000-2004. I don't remember being bitten by a tick previously, nor have I been much in the woods, especially during that time when I lived and worked in Cambridge constantly)
I have to say that I feel generally in really good healthy normally. Not very weak or tired or achy ever.
-- Unexplained hives in 2003 for a year which would be alleviated quickly with loratadine. I actually thought I was allergic to my to-be husband, as we started to date then! ;)
-- Unexplained abdominal pain in 2006, six months after the birth of my son until 2014 (all kinds of tests).
-- Graves Disease (hyper thyroid) six months after the birth of same son
-- Graves went into remission a year later 2007 (post partum thyroiditis?)
-- Unexplained Bell's Palsy 2008 (had flu shot the morning of, attributed to that)
-- Birth of my daughter 2010- No symptoms
-- Hysterectomy March 2014 to eliminate abdominal pain. Large fibroid.
-- New thyroid issue NOW- HYPO thyroid (opposite of Hyper thyroid). Given thyroid replacement yesterday... waiting until I see LLMD to take the replacement therapy.
I know you all aren't doctors, but I welcome any thoughts.
