I started Doxy 200 mg per day on Tuesday. Yesterday I ran a low grade fever, but now it's really low, 96.9.

I retested for accuracy. Is this normal, or should I call doc?

I should add that I'm shaky and my hands are cold.

Sounds normal for me. Many with lyme and co report low body temp inspit of feelingvery cold exextremities or very hot, sweats even tho body temp low. At times my feet and hads get ice cold.

Yep. Mines been like that for years. Once, about six weeks ago, I was SO hot. I could feel the heat rolling of my head when my hand was an inch away. I took my temp, just SURE I had a fever. It was 94 degrees!

It's so weird! In a way, it's like this disease makes us superhuman!

My temp is back up to normal, seems to drop at night and goes really low in the early morning.

My body temp has been running low for some time. It could also be hypothyroid and I've been on meds for this but can also be the Lyme. Since on the Naturethroid my body temp is still off and I can't stand the cooler weather we are having this summer. I am cold a lot.

I'm not sure it's the meds. My body was running 96.4 before my diagnoses. It hasn't changed. I threw out 2 thermometers thinking they were not calibrated right, till I believed it was in fact low.

Revive, kind of funny, I can't stand the heat. It makes me nauseous.

I told my LLND about my body temp. I also explained that some days I feel like I'm running a fever but my temp doesn't go over 98. He said because body temp is low, at 98 I am running a low grade fever.

I wish more doctors were like that! I've never met one that agreed that two degrees above MY normal was a fever. I have a feeling my LLMD would agree with me though. They just seem to be better doctors in general. They actually think, instead of relying on the protocols they were taught.

I always feel like I'm running a fever, but it's usually normal and I cannot tolerate any temp above 70.

My daughter has a low temp all the time. When she first had her vitals taken at our doctor, the assistant asked her if she was alive after taking her temperature and checking her pulse. He was just joking with her and she had some funny comments in answer to his question.

Your body temperature is quite "normal" for this illness, but it is NOT healthy. My daughter also had a low body temperature similar to yours when she was sick. She is now consistently in the 98.x degree range. Dr. J. has written a few articles over the last few years that speaks to that issue. According to him, there are indeed a multitude of possible causative factors for low body temperature. Here are links to 2 of the articles:

My body temp was always really low as well (96.7). Before I started any treatments for tick-borne infections, I had appendicitis. They didn't believe me at first because my body temp was 98.6 - "normal" for most people. But when they finally listened to my insistences that it was serious, and they did the secondary testing - I was taken over to surgery right away and my appendix was taken out at midnight because we couldn't wait any longer.

Once I was about 3 months into my Lyme treatment the first time, it raised up to 97.4. When I completed my first treatment for Lyme, Bartonella and also Babesia, my body temp was up to 98.6.
