Lyme and congenital heart defects ?

Have not heard of any - mine was cause for worry when I took biaxin in my fourth week of pregnancy due to bronchitis and not knowing I was pregnant - she is a VERY healthy 20 year old... but boy did they FREAK me out - first dr. said get abortion!

Just breathe... there are all sorts of reasons for things and some never make any sense...

I had two other pregnancies - perfect, nothing wrong, lost both babies.... I have four living children all with different stories, but nothing has much rhyme or reason...

Be positive, give the baby good and happy vibes :) sing too, they love that even in there!

I was not treated for anything in the pregnancies when I lost the babies....thought they were the picture perfect times.... that's why it was a shock when I lost them.

The other pregnancies I had medicines here or there, not for lyme, but the only tough one was with the bronchitis, they used biaxin, very strong. I was in fourth week or so of the pregnancy, did not know I was pregnant! All of her is just fine though she did come a month early and was tiny for a long time.

You just never know, your baby should be fine. Just watch as he or she grows and ask your doctor - if concerned, even pay a visit or call a llmd and ask how they handle pregnancies / new babies - maybe they can test and do blood work when your baby is born.

Hi Ladies, I just want to share some encouragement. I've likely had Lyme for around 30 years and was diagnosed earlier this year. My son is 3 years old. After I started my treatment and lost some of the brain fog, I started recognizing some symptoms in my son. For example, he would hold up his hand and say "something hurts", he would act extraordinarily tired at times, and he started chewing on things like cardboard boxes. I took him to my LLMD, who did some muscle testing and found that he had babesia / protozoa (which I also have), but not Lyme. He has been on herbal treatment for just a couple of months and no longer shows any symptoms. I'm optimistic that he will soon be done with treatment. My LLMD said that children usually do really well with treatment. I've read that when moms with Lyme are treated during pregnancy, they have a pretty good success rate.
