Hi Reba,
I often encourage members to start with what they can afford and work their way up, if needed. I originally got an appointment at a place that would've ended up costing me about 20k upfront. The bottom line is there really is not a quick fix for lyme. All treatments take time, and adjustment.
I ended up finding a decent LLMD, then working with an ND, and an herbalist. All in all I spent about 12k over a year but was really in heavy treatment for about 6 months. I have been out of treatment for a year now.
My herbalist was $175 first visit, $75 thereafter - depending on the month I would spend about $175 in herbs/supplements.
LLMD was $250 (?) first visit + $200 Igenex, thereafter he was $120/visit + $180 for vitamin IV's, abx ....$300/month
ND was $250 first visit, $150 thereafter, usually spent about $150-$200 in supplements there
Most people don't do that extensive treatment. As you can see, even the 3 of those drs added up pretty fast. But I did get my life back and didn't lose a whole lot of time. Herbs seem to be the cheapest option and usually most people experience a degree of benefit.
