Hello Folks, I'm jujubean. I am new to this. My daughter has had lime disease for 8 years. I'm hoping to find some answers to this baffling disease. First I will read what is being said by you, and see if the topic helps me and my understanding of this disease. I wanted to check in, and let you know I'm joining you. Thank you, jujubean

Sorry to hear about your daughter. Is she seeing an LLMD? I would recommend checking out the first thread on the forum, "New to Lyme, Start Here" There is a lot of really good information on there.

8 years is a long time to be infected but I was infected for 7 years and became well, so I'm sure if your daughter finds the right people she will get well too!

For information on finding a Lyme Literate Medical Doctor(LLMD) in your area, you can start a new thread titled something like:"Looking for LLMD/LLND in the _______ area." Although you will need to enable your email option in your profile in order to receive any recommendations, as we don't allow doctor's names and contact info to be posted on the forum for several reasons. You can enable your email option in your profile, under 'edit profile'. Be sure to click the submit button to actually save your preference. Also, please include a nearby large city so that people know where would be more convenient for you.

You can also go to The Lyme Disease Association and search for LLMD's 3 times in a month. You have to register first. Here is the link:www.lymediseaseassociation.org/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=277&Itemid=74

You will want to find an ILADS (International Lyme And Associated Diseases Society) trained doctor, as ID Docs (Infectious Disease Doctors) believe Lyme is hard to catch and easy to treat, and don't believe in the reality of chronic Lyme. Welcome to the forum jujubean! You've come to a good place to learn. I'd suggest you start with the "New to Lyme?" thread at the top of the page. There is a lot of good info on there.

I also have a daughter with Lyme, about 16 years now. I have it too, so it makes my learning slower. Hopefully you don't have it so you can learn quickly. It does sometimes seem that the more you learn, the more you need to learn! Stay in touch and ask as many questions as you need to. You can also use the search function to look up things you have questions about.

Thank You! Garden Peace, and opugirl I will continue to read. I am going to my Son's for a visit, but will be back! My daughter lives in the country and it's hard for her to get WiFi. I told her I would pay for the Wi-Fi and to get it asap. I want her on this forum! I will give more info about her and her doctor as soon as I have more time. Thank You Bunches! jujubean

Another thing to do is watch "Under Our Skin" on You Tube and read Cure Unknown (library should have a copy) - so much information, but the best source for answers quickly is a blog like this as people can relate and answer specific questions easily.

Hope she starts finding answers and solutions soon! You are a great mom helping her! I hope she is not too sick...

Garden Peace, I didn't remember your daughter is 16 -my son just turned 16 about 4 weeks ago. He didn't even realize it was his birthday cry Went to school this morning to meet admin. - he still wants full honors for 10th grade, no leniency... don't know how he's ever going to do that with brain lyme....
