I had a brain freeze/fogged moment last week. I had to get my dog's glands done (sorry) and have to use the vet for this. For some reason I thought, "I'll get her the Lyme vaccine while I'm there." Now, all I keep thinking is she has it from the shot. I know this can happen. I came home, apparently woke up then, and realized I did something I wouldn't have done if I'd been clearer in myself/thinking.
Now, I'm really having a tough time worrying about her. She is showing signs, but I'm wondering if this is from the shot, and not her 'getting' Lyme. She is not herself, really noticeable the day after, not wanting to walk, not wanting to go outside when we went, just looked so sad. She has been eating. The following day she was more herself, active, but still not quite 100%. She is now I'd say about 6, with 10 being the best.
I will call the vet on Mon or Tues, and ask which one of the three Lyme vaccines they use. There are different stats for each, but with all the lies we're told and the things we're not told regarding Lyme/testing/meds, etc, I dont' hold much in what is being stated as 'facts'.
Also, she has a lump type cyst on her chest, which she's had since we got her from the spca at 6 months age 7 yrs ago. It has always been the size of a small pea. Last week, pre shot, I felt it and it was a tad larger, but not much different. Tonight it is the size of a small lima bean, and it has dried blood on it, but it's not now opened or bleading. It looks like it was scraped a little, but it's in a spot she couldn't have done it with her mouth or paw. Could this be getting infected, or something, due to the shot? I'm just a mess. And, we all know how much stress is not our friend.
I'm wondering what are other's experience with their dogs, and getting the lyme vaccine. Are you dogs ok? Should I be concerned? Any help, info would be so appreciated.
