Well the good news is that your family is healthy and you have been healthy. Unfortunately, co-infections, if you have any, are there already when you get bitten. They are held in check by your immune system and flare up with the bite. I got bitten first when I was 8 and got meningitis. I was on 2 months of Amoxicillin. I recovered mostly, there were some symptoms that remained but I was well until I got bitten by fleas when I was 19. I got bitten by a tick again when I was 39, was given 1 day of doxy. Things seemed fine until I collapsed at 41. I was in such horrid state that I did not think I was going to make it. I flew out to Sponaugle where I was diagnosed with Ehrlichia, Babesia, Chlamydia Pneumoniae, Protomyxzoa, mold exposure, HLA and MTHFR genetic mutation, and a missing liver enzyme. So an antibiotic would not have helped me anyways because I had the genetic piece that nobody had looked at until then. If you want to be really sure have the HLA, MTHFR, and organic solvents done at Labcorp. If you are fine then you don't need to worry. If you are not then you need to figure out how to deal with that part of your health.
