Lymies don't get fever?

Is it true that we do not get fever due to Borrelia messing up our immune system? If so, does that mean that if we get a fever of 103, then our immune system is still working a little better? Should we use a high fever as a good sign? Does anybody have any ideas? I don't even know if i am making sense... eyes

Its just my opinion but if one is able to get a fever, anything over 99, then I take that asca good sign. Im referinv to adults, not sure if applies to children.

I wonder about a low grade temp,mine at its lowest is 94.5,so when it goes to 97.8 is that a low grade fever?

You are right about low temp. I have read that low temp is common with us. These bacteria like a cool environment, so they manage to keep our body temperature low. This is one of the many reason why moderate exercise is encouraged, also to oxygenate our bodies.

That is interesting, because I have never had a real fever that I can remember. I had a low grade fever of like 99 or 100 when I was around 9 when I had strep throat but I really don't think I had Lyme disease then. I have had plenty of illnesses that are supposed to have fevers (especially strep) but I never had a fever accompany them. Maybe I have a low body temperature and when the thermometer says 98 that means I have a low fever? I've never taken daily temperatures of myself but I keep meaning to just out of curiosity.

I usually have very low temps, but then I get these weird, viral-type episodes (usually with a cold and a cough), and I get fevers of 100-101 with those.

When I first got sick, I had a low-grade fever for about two years.

Normally, my temp runs in the 97 range.

My body temperature is always between 96,00 and 97,16.
I'm sorry for the after the comma fugures, I'm converting cause we use Celsius :-)

But when I get extra infections (like respiratory infections), it goes up to 98,96 (which makes me feel feverish) - when I had the cellullitis earlier this year it got up to 101,12 and wouldn't go down, not even with iv abx (it eventually did, after 5 days of iv abx). Afterwards, they figured out it was no strep infection, but Yersiniosis.

This is very interesting to me. I rarely ever get fevers and never connected it to Lyme...

I did not know this. That could explain why I was able to have strep throat twice the summer with no high fever. My temp normally runs in the 97 range, but I think it was 98 during the strep. I guess that does constitute fever then. Very weird, but I am happy to learn something new everyday!

I have read it before, don't remember where. I read that Borrelia changes the balance in our body, it kind of manipulate our bodies to make it suitable for itself. It likes our temperature cool, so it messes up homeostasis in our bodies. That is why we tend to have low temperature and low fevers not greater than 102. It messes up with us emotionally so our defense can remain compromise. It looks like this bacteria has a little brain, that is why it is stealth... shakehead
