Curing or Hiding?

I posted yesterday that I started a dose of 100mg twice daily of Doxy 5-6 weeks after the bite (2 weeks after symptoms), and after 3 weeks I have felt way better. I was told yesterday to bump it up to 200mg twice daily.

Do you think I was feeling better because the Doxy was working or because the bacteria turned to cyst form (asymptomatic), making this increase in dosage useless?

Welcome to the forum, Fronton.

You should bump up the doxy to 200 mg twice daily. That is the dose needed to kill Lyme.

It is good you caught it early - continue to treat with the increased doxy dosage...you don't want to stop at 3 weeks of treatment, even though you feel better. You need to treat for several weeks after you feel no symptoms.

That is a good question... I do like that you were told to bump up the dose and I agree with Girlie that is what seems to be recommended now.

I am glad you are feeling better, that is a really good sign! If you are concerned about cyst, you can always go to the search button on this page and put in ' lyme cyst buster' or similar and see what other people have done that worked.
