Husband in ICU

Are you familiar with Caring Bridge? www.caringbridge.org/ . It saves you from having to call people all the time. You can write updates on there and your friends and family can get on and read them and make comments. It's really helpful when you're burned out and don't feel up to making calls.

I hope he did well today and I hope you got through the day ok. I hope it's all uphill now. Take care of yourself.

Garden, When I get a chance, I will call you. I am still dealing with so much. Toby's operation yesterday was successful and he is in ICU but should be moved to the trauma/surgery ward today. I don't know how long it will take before he can be mobile enough to move so I can't confirm an appt. right now. I will try to call in the next couple of days. I haven't heard of Caring Bridge. I will look into it. Thanks.

Thank you Trav. I am delegating some work. Both his brothers flew up from Southern California to stay with him while I took care of business when I couldn't be by his side. I so appreciated that. My oldest daughters are taking care of housecleaning, the garden, and bills. I just need to remind our son to mow the lawn. LOL I am feisty and strong and will get through this. Thank you so much for keeping in touch. If I call you, I may vent my frustrations with the callous disregard with Lyme being an underlying issue to many chronic conditions.....if that' okay with you. It's a travesty, to say the least. Take care of yourself too. (:

I'm glad the surgery went well and that it is behind him now, poor guy. It's a relief for you too.

I fixed my mistake in the Caring Bridge link, so you can get to it easier. My first homeopath used it for his 2 bouts of cancer and it was so much easier for him and his wife, since he has a lot of people who care about him and were wondering how he was doing.

Don't feel you have to call, but feel free to if it will help you in any way.

If he decides to use our doctor in the future, maybe I can help him get in sooner then. I know he has a ways to go before he can do anything. I have forgotten where you live exactly, but I hope you're far from the Estacada area with the forest fire going on.

I can't wait for Toby to understand how much love and support he has gotten. What makes it even more special to me is that each of you is suffering and yet you take the time to help others through a difficult time. I will always remember how much you gave of yourselves.

Garden, we are 30 min. west of Portland so we were not affected.

I'm doing okay considering the circumstances. I have been so busy with business matters and trying to make as much time as possible to spend time with Toby. He is being discharged tomorrow - or today if you are reading this on Friday - to a rehabilitation facility fairly close to where we live. It is a good one and we know someone who works there. ((Hugs))

I'm so very happy that Toby is moving out of the hospital! It shows how well he's healing!!
