Japanese Knotweed?

You can take knotweed with antibiotics. For me it really reduced inflammation. I just used whole herb powder from 1stchineseherbs and capsulated it myself. It was a lot cheaper that way. I was on 4.5 gms/day (I had to work up to that dose).

For more information I would check out www.buhnerhealinglyme.com. There is a lot of information on there including side effects. It is generally considered safe but I know some ppl who have had strong rxns to it.

Agreed, Mister Mike. Unless you are looking for one specific action of an herb, almost always the 'whole herb' is preferable.

I have just added JK back into my daily regimen. I chose the Green Dragon Botanicals capsules (it is also recommended by Buhner). The label says it contains 500 mg of Japanese Knotweed root.
Further down on the label it says "Natual source of resveratrol".

It doesn't say the amount of resveratrol...so I think the important thing is the amount of JK root.

I think resveratrol has different sources...one being wine grapes, so just buying the resveratrol doesn't mean you're getting it from the JK.

Not saying that the other types aren't beneficial, but if you're wanting to follow Buhner's protocol, I now believe that getting the one he recommends is probably a good idea in the case of Japanese Knotweed/resveratrol.

Cheetahjade - Did you get the Japanese Knotweed...or the other one that has several things in it (including Cat's Claw) - I think it's a Lyme protocol all in one cap?

I just got the knotweed...and will add the Cat's claw after I ramp up my knotweed.

Just started it today..no results yet...lol.

Although I was doing buhner's protocol for about 6 weeks prior to my antibiotics...I stopped because I had a 12 day herx...and got some advice from the champion Moderator that maybe it was all too much...so I stopped the herbs...and the herx stopped. Smart lady that Trav is!!!
So, I'm now on a different antibiotic and my LLND told me to start taking the JK and CC again...so I'm giving it whirl.

My advice to you is start with 1 cap 3 X a day and don't change anything else....then after three days, up it to 2 caps 3 X a day...until you reach the amount you're supposed to take. See how you feel.

Yes Mike, it is fascinating. We don't have any on our property yet, thank goodness. I try to keep the natives going. If only nettle stings would do something beneficial. :) My elbow was throbbing all day yesterday after lightly bumping it.
