If it's hard for friends, it's gotta be super hard for hubbies and wives. That's why there are caregiver support groups. It's also hard to be your own caregiver, with no one taking care of you, because Lyme isn't cancer or something of the sort that people recognize.
This is only my guess, but it might be important for a hubby or wife to take time away from you and do things he/she enjoys, but by him or herself.
Whatever you as the patient should do, is never to feel guilty.
