Probenacid??

Does anyone know much about it? I have been taking it with the Ammoxicillin because of it's short half-life of one hour....the probenacid keeps the ammox blood levels up for a while longer.

I am now adding clarithromycin to my regimen. But, I forgot to ask my Dr. if I can continue to take the probenacid.

Does anyone know if it's safe for all antibiotics? Even one with longer half lives?

he didn't say to discontinue, but the worry wart that I am makes me...well...worried.

I guess I could call him with a quick question.

Heya Girlie-girl! Ive never taken, but wish I wouldve taken Probenicid while on Amox.

I always run an interaction check if I am un-sure about drugs going with one another. This is smart to do because we take so MANY meds with this illness and while we have to trust our LLMD's to have their ducks in a row...they are only human as well.

Theres a couple reliable ones on the net. I go here alot:

I entered amox, prob & clarith and a "minor" interaction came up between amox & clarith but not at all for the prob. From my experience, when it comes up minor range it doesnt stand for much at all and I have still taken.

Hi girlie, yes you can take the probencid amoxicillin and clarithromycin all together. It says right in the Dr.H book why can't I get better

Lymepickle - no, I never asked Dr. C. about the nystatin. We talked about probiotics...and I am doing fine - as far as my intestines go - no symptoms so far...I guess he figures if it ain't broke, don't fix it...and feels that the probiotics I'm on will suffice for now.
There was so much to talk about and only half hour - I didn't even think of it.

I'll take your word for it LP - about the probenacid and biaxin being okay together.
He wants me to add Cat's Claw, too right away. I have already added the Jap Knotweed.
