IgM is when your immune system is actively fighting the infection - this can happen either in early or late infection stages.
IgG is seen only in later stages of the infection.
According to this site:
www.reocities.com/HotSprings/Oasis/6455/western-blot.txt - one that seems to be pretty accurate to me.
Remember that IND means "indeterminate" - not quite dark enough for a "fully positive" result, but there is something there.
Specific for Lyme means that nothing else will cross react on that band - so if you have an IND on a Lyme specific band, there is only one bacteria that will react on that band - Lyme bacteria and actually its the Bb sensu stricto, "Borrelia burgdorferi in the strictest sense" - only one way to have that response show up - the bacteria is in your body.
Band 18 is a flagellin (tail) fragment and can cross react with other spirochete infections such as syphilis, Pintas and Yaws, Tick- borne relapsing fever and a few others.
Band 34 - indicates OspB (Outer surface protein "B") and is specific for Lyme disease.
Band 39 - indicates BmpA - Bacterial Membrane Protein "A" - Specific to Lyme disease.
Band 41 is the flagellin (tail) of the bacteria and can be positive if you have other infections such as syphilis, Pintas and Yaws, Tick- borne relapsing fever and a few others.
Band 58 possibly indicates Borrelia Afzelii - another strain of Lyme that causes Lyme disease.
The information on Band 66 is still kind of sketchy from what I can understand. They say it's a heat shock protein, but exactly what that is is confusing to me. It's also an "outer/intregal membrane protein" and possibly from Borrelia Hermsii
I would agree that you should see a LLMD/LLND soon! I don't think I'd wait around until January though.
