1st LLMD appt w/ Dr. S in NJ

Is this the same Dr. S in Howell? I was just recommended to him by a friend, suspecting I could have lymes but will go into more details...

I've heard mixed reviews but overall good. He seems to be mainly western, not integrative. So he will do supplements/antibiotics but not herbals.

I've been going to him for over 2 years now.

Honestly, i dont like him. He has TERRIBLE bedside manners and just a "dont bother me" attitude overall. When my mother used to come with me for visits (i was around 16 when i started to see him) he would barely acknowledge her.

And you being KNOWLEDGEABLE might actually hurt in your favor. I'm not if its because i'm young that he (and other doctors) dont think i should be looking up things on my own but when i mention something to him he either gives me a "W.T.F. are you talking about? Thant doesnt make sense" look or a "Ughh yes you CAN do that but...just do what i tell you"
For example i have really bad muscle twitching. A quick google search of "lyme disease muscle twitching remedies" and you can find that magnesium helps muscle twitching. My first few appointments i repeatedly told him how bad my muscle twitching was and he DIDN'T recommend anything! Not even magnesium (which has helped tremendously).
Uhh just thinking about it makes me want to drop him but i live in SOUTH jersey and he's literally the closest Lyme doctor in my price range (45 min to get there and $115 per appt not including blood work).

And let me tell you it is so hard to get a freaking answer from him!! You can do a bunch of research on something related to Lyme and he will literally brush it off and give you a five word response. And then when you inquire more about it, he looks annoyed.
His appointments are very quick too. Definetly not worth the $115. Literally my longest appointment, after the intial one, was 15 mins. Most of my appts with him last 10mins and under. That's $115 for 10mins...do other Lyme doctors do this???!!

Since you already made the appointment i would go to him and see how you like. I have gotten better but...i feel like i've plateaued. i admitedly have trouble sticking with the no carb, no sugar no dairy diet and his lack of advice just makes it worse.

Hi, I am wondering if you saw Dr. S and how you feel about working with him. I started seeing him in September 2015 and am feeling a bit frustrated. DO NOT SEE HIM! He is hands down the worst Doctor I have ever experienced in my life. Not only that but he doesn't even go to Lyme conferences or keep up with the latest research, example he uses meds that are out-dated. If you want to go to him to try, I encourage you, but do not see him as your llmd.

Dr. S is our doctor as well, 21 months now. Dave and I differ a bit on this topic. He has some very good points about doctors as well. If you would like to PM me, it is enabled and I could chat with you as well to give you many opinions about drs in this area.
