New stage of treatment

So my LLMD is transitioning me to the Byron White formula. The abx have made my body have too much yeast so still doing all probiotics, liver supplements etc but taking a break from abx. I hope this transition goes well, and I thank achievinggrace for referring me to this LLMD. He has brought me from maybe 70% better to 95% better with a few symptoms that I think could be from the yeast. His whole office is full of lyme patients from everywhere.

Thanks guys, am looking forward to trying something new. Glad you are doing well on herbals Mister Mike sometimes the path to wellness is a slow one. For me it has been three plus years.. I appreciate the support of the group.

The ILDS Dr. I saw in Mt Kisco NY did have me on doxy of course it made me very very sick. I had to start taking it with food which made it more tolerable. He changed my meds about every three months. Lots of different combinations. Doxy & Mepron, Cipro & Zithromax, Mepron & Zithromax etc. was just on Malarone and Bactrim for last many months. I got way worse before seeing improvement. My husband drove me the 6 hour round trip every month for at least a year until I could start to drive it myself but I then spend the night with a friend nearby and broke the trip up to two days. Although he is one of the top LLMD's on the east coast I didn't feel he was going to get me well.

The LLMD I see now is more aggressive and understands the supplements needed that help the side effects of the treatment whereas the above mentioned Dr. did not. Along with the abx I started acupuncture, massage and bought a dry sauna to make me sweat out the toxins. I also took and still occasionally take the Epsom salt baths with hydrogen peroxide and apple cider vinegar. I do the dry brushing -thanks Traveler! I exercise by walking, small amounts of yoga, Pilates, and a small trampoline (not always up to this). I started meditation and positive affirmations. I also believe my Dr. wants to get me well - that we are partners in my health- this helps tremendously.

I am so in a better place than I was. In 2011 I had a serious discussion with my husband about my health, I asked him to help me die if I could not get better. Of course he had no interest in pursuing that avenue and kept positive throughout even when I just so wanted to die. He was very much instrumental in keeping me going physically and mentally. Everyone needs a cheerleader in their life during such a stressful illness.

I do not know where this next stage of treatment will take me, but know that I will keep trying to get my health stabilized long term. This journey begin with a bite in 1989 (short treatment) and a reinfection around 2009 I believe so I did not expect a miracle recovery but am so happy to be once again living among the living!
