Hello. I have been dealing with odd physical symptoms since July 2012 and have been tested for almost everything under the sun (at least that's how it feels).
It began with feeling dizzy whenever standing up from sitting. Then came feelings of unreality. Then awful headaches which felt like my brain was on fire.
After a few weeks of that I went to Patient First and was checked for orthostatic hypotension and had some blood work done. The doctor said he suspected I might have a sinus infection, prescribed me 10 days of amoxicillan and said I should follow up with my primary.
When I followed up I was told that it was probably a sinus infection and to finish up my antibios.
But the dizziness, headaches and feelings of unreality did not stop. The headaches and unreal sense became more and more frequent and worse and I began to feel very fatigued frequently.
One night the burning headaches were so bad I went to the ER and had a cat scan and more blood work. Everything was clear and normal. I was told it was probably stress and anxiety and I was sent home. Followed up with my primary and told again it was probably stress and anxiety and would I like some Zoloft. No I wouldn't - something felt very wrong!
The headaches lasted for months and then came muscle twitches, and tingling and numbness in my extremities... I went to therapists, a new primary, a cardiologist and neurologists and fought with insurance for an MRI. Once I got that I was told the results were normal - and the headaches did stop.
It was now Jan. 2013 and I was still having feelings of unreality as well as very frequent muscle twitches all over, achy joints, and some tingling on and off as well as new issues with my menstrual periods.
But I was feeling somewhat better than I had the year before.
I asked for a Lyme test (Western blot) from my primary, which was recommended by an herbalist. The test was negative.
This past spring and summer I began having sinus issues, some tinnitus, more numbness and sore joints as well as a new sensation - I began to feel like my arms were sunburned, but they weren't.
My neurologist did an EMG and ordered another MRI. The EMG was fine, but the MRI showed a small area of inflammation post contrast dye... so then I had more blood work another Lyme test and a spinal tap - all normal.
As time has gone on my symptoms come and go and get better and worse, but never go away.
I can't think of anything else this could be...
I know you all are not doctors and cannot diagnose me - I am just looking suggestions/ideas/and your experiences.
Thanks for your time!
