Does everyone need Actigall during IV tx?

I am not sure if it is the Actigall or lyme die-off, but I have been getting cramping intermittantly behind my sternum since I got my picc line put in on Tuesday.

The cramping pain occurs when I am lying down and I have to get up for the pain to stop.

I am not sure if this is the Actigall side effect or lyme die-off?

Does everyone need Actigall while on IV Ceftriaxone?
I am thinking of stopping the actigall to see if it is what is causing that
Pain.

I take actigall with no side effects. I was told to take it while on IV rocephin and clindamycin. I think it protects the liver or maybe it's the kidneys. I would talk to your doctor before going off it. Good luck!

It felt like my heart was having muscle cramps.
Obviously, this really worried me, so I went to the ER & they couldn't find a reasoning for it via x-ray, blood work, EKG.

So, I don't know if the heart cramping was from bacterial die-off,
Or possibly a side effect of the Actigall.

I would stay on the actigall. I took it for 16 months with no issues. Check the list of side effects that came with the Rx. I would guess its a herx reaction to die-off or the Rx is pissing something off.

Did you take it 1x or 2x per day?

Has Actigall given anyone pain behind their sternum and made eating & drinking all but impossible?

I started Rocephin and Actigall at the same time, so I do not know
Which one is the culprit of this problem.

Actigall is meant to protect the gall bladder while on Rocephin, pictureofhealth.

My Dr. said if I start the IV medicine that I don't need Actigall if I only use IV for 5 days on and 2 day off (with oral Omnicef) each week. Is that a option?

Well, I am going to try a few days without the Actigall & see what happens.
This should tell me which drug is causing this horrible problem- actigall or rocephin.
I'll go from there, I suppose.
Thanks for your thoughts, Joey. I am on 2g daily of Ceftriaxone/rocephin for at least 28 days, I am hoping to convince the rheumatologist that signed for my line to do another month.
Otherwise, I will have to ask my out-of-state lyme doc to take over my line. I wish this was easier.

I am on IV rocephin daily but haven't started the actigall yet. No pain, but get a bit quesy sometimes.

Question for those of you with an IV - how often are you getting blood work, weekly or biweekly? Does anyone also "push" glutathione?

Stopped Actigall yesterday, and this evening I was able to eat, drink, etc. with NO problems :)
Actigall gives me horrible, debilitating side effects.

Yes, I am doing Glutathione pushes.
I just did my first yesterday.
I am planning to push 1g every other day, 4-8 hrs away from
IV ceftriaxone.

I am wondering if the Glutathione cleans the Ceftriaxone out of the blood/body system faster than it normally would, though....?

Does Glutathione decrease the Ceftriaxone's half-life?

I currently have a PICC line and take 2g of rocephin daily, along with doxy 2x a day. I am not taking Actigall. I was told by my acupuncuturist & LLMD to stay away from fatty foods and I should be fine. I try to stick with the no red meat, pork, gluten, sugar, dairy (unless its Raw milk, kiefer or goat cheese/yogurt). My acupunturist believes the less RX pills I take the better and thinks I should just take the necessary, i.e. Antibiotics. Here are some things recommended by my acupuncturist to protect my liver/gallbladder

Oil pulling (first thing in the am)
The first thing I consume is warm water with lemon
I take lots of herbs (the acupuncturist makes me a tea with chinese herbs that helps protect the liver & kidneys among other things)
Kombucha
dry brushing
detox foot baths or body bath (just dont soak the arm)
lots of supplements
cod liver oil

So far so good. I actually have lots of energy and feel pretty good these days. Of course, i still have days where i feel like crap and I do have my random symptoms that are quite stubborn and I know it will take a while to get rid of them, but I do have some pretty good days. Energy is quite good as well overall.

Cmama- what are you doing to have normal bowel movements while on the Ceftriaxone?

Usedtogarden, I believe the tea, plenty of probiotics, kombucha and sauer kraut (not the one with vinegar, should just say water, salt and cabbage as ingredients) help me with digestion as well. I go regularly and they are never loose. I actually go 2-3x a day (TMI), but I am very regular. I do not suffer from bloating, cramping or diahrea ever. I did have 2 days of that when I added tindamax to the mix , but I upped the amount of probiotics and my stomach & bowel movements went back to normal.
