just can't do it anymore. I've applied for private disability through work months ago and they keep telling me their doctors deny my claim. I have a picture of my EM rash, Elisa 6.9, WB bands 23 & 41+. I've been going in for IV's 3x/week for 7 months. My cardiologist diagnosed me with POTS due to lyme and has me on heart meds. At one time of another I've had most symptoms of lyme, bart and babs. I just don't get it how can they say I don't have it? I feel so defeated. What the heck, maybe I am crazy? In 18 years of working there I never called in sick more than one day here and there. I had to go on leave in feb and my sick leave ran out. Sorry to complain but I'm just at my wits end. I am so sick of being sick. I hate lyme and co's!

Im sorry this is happening to you. I also experienced months of fighting for disability. Have you cotacted a lawyer? Sadly it is even harder for the person who is sick to fight all the politics of this illness leaving us discouraged and cynical. I wish there were a central dvocacy for tjose fighting lyme and co and disabled by the illness and the process. I also worked decades. I pray you will get an advocate with uour company. I remember feeling crazy.

I gather you were not cdc positive and that is what they are basing their denial on. Have you talked with your llmd to see if he, she has any ideas? Have you opened a request for disability with social securty? That is an even longer process but shows you believe your situation warrants it. Plus you then have a lawyer that will help and only gets paid if you get ssdi. You can then give your case number to your company showing you are taking steps.

Btw, you have nothing to be sorry for. Just as my company you were told long term disability was a benefit but you never ever thought you would need it. Now that you are suffing from an infection (s) that can be so debilitating some days you need to depend on that benefit being there. Little did we know how hard it is to get. My company by God's grace changec their mind and did give me disability but I have to continue to provide paperwork suppoting ongoing disability. Ive still had in my heart the tjought of returning to my career but not optomistic.

Have you checked your thyroid, that is one of the reasons they reconsidered my case. I always worry they will take it back before I am well enough to work again but I'm trying yo learn not to stress over whag I have no ckntrol over. It is scary and aggravating that really sick people xant get help. It has been 18 months and still no decision from ssdi even though I have paid into the system for 30+ years. They devlined me once so I am on appeal but I am in a state that foesnt believe in lyme much less chronic lyme. Get ssdi request submitted as soon as you can....it takes a painfully long time to get resonse...bettef to start as soon as you are on disabilty from work.

Thanks for the support Roxie60. Maybe after a good nights sleep I'll have the energy to look into social security disability. I'm not cdc positive with WB. I didn't pay for testing through Igenex since I had the rash, flu....

Im not cd cdc positive eigher and I did use igenex but I eventually wax positive for coinfections. Get ssdi lawyer they will, should help you navifate the ssdi process.

When you apply for the disability and they deny it but then later give it to you, they usually give you the back pay, from when you first applied.

Good luck with getting it, it took my sister several years to finally get it so don't give up.

I wonder if you got retested after going thru some treatment if you would show more bands positive for Lyme?

As many people that get welfare and abuse it, the sick shouldn't get denied disability.
