Trouble describing symptoms

I was just wondering if anyone else has this problem. I know this is going to sound bad but I'm going to try. Don't know if I'm herxing or just feeling bad right now. But my head feels "funny," I think it may be a sinuses, but I'm not sure. It's not quite a headache, it's not pressure, it's something else. Definitely fogginess but it's not quite painful, but it is darn uncomfortable.

I get these symptoms sometimes where I feel terrible but can't quite describe them because they are different from anything I've experienced before. How do you describe to your doctor that you had a headache that's not really a headache. There's pain but you're not sure where it's coming from.Ii feel terrible but can't tell you what exactly is wrong.

I was just wondering if anyone has this issue? Part of it, is not being able to find the right words, but at the same time its impossible to find them cause they don't exist.

you are not blabbing either, you should read some of my post...

Some symptoms are VERY hard do describe. Non Lyme literate drs would think you are incoherent, but the literate ones will know what is going on. Sometimes, the weirdest descriptions are the clearest to them. I had this going on several times: trying to describe something very odd to my dr, while thinking that he will probably think I'm nuts... but then at the end it was all he had to hear to be sure about a coinfection, side effect or herx.
And to us, your fellow lymies, it is not strange at all to hear 'complicated' descriptions, cause sometimes there are just no exact words for it (and if there were words for it, there's still a chance that we just couldn't find them).
Some days, I just can not speak... I can't find words, sometimes it's that bad that I can't describe what I'm trying to say.

(You could always get your sinuses checked out, just to be sure, if you think that might be part of the problem. We had quite a few members with sinus issues here.)

I have that challenge too. I have pain in my legs but it is not really sharp or a pain! It's a squeezing sensation that comes and goes…not to easy to explain. Yesterday and today itchy skin like bug bites but they are not bug bites.Some days can't talk, I know what I want to say but can't get the words out either. Have to really concentrate to tell a simple story and find the words and get the sequence correct. Ugh, but trying to live day by day.

I'm sure Lyme doctors are very used to that and many will likely ask questions to clarify what you're trying to say. Just do the best you can and try to write down your feelings for several days before you go in.

I have a similar headache that's frontal in the sinuses. I just call it head discomfort or a toxic feeling because it's not a typical headache and hard to describe. Makes me feel crappy and sometimes it radiates to my teeth and gums. It's all part of the Lyme syndrome.

During my first episode of symptoms, I had a weird feeling in my head. I think it may have been related to the brain fog but it just felt like something was in there. I finally saw someone describe it perfectly - like a big ball of wool in your head, trying to think through it!

Also, my visual issue is hard to describe. My eye doctor said he had never heard anyone describe what I was trying to articulate - grainy vision. Now I know that it's called visual static or visual snow, but it kind of looks like an old grainy film and it gets worse in the dark.

That's a really great description of brain fog. I definitely had that for awhile. I always decribed it as a block or wall taht I'm trying to get through. I was happy when it went away. Now though, this "headache" is hard to even locate. I think its in my frontal brain area and I think my sinuses may be involved. I have a sort of detached feeling from everything right now.

I hate it cause I had a couple weeks where I was doing pretty good. I felt my energy improving and I was trying to do more. So this step back is frustrating, especially dealing with my brain and head like this.
