so I just got the paper copy of my husband's igenex report. He is seeing my llmd tomorrow so this is just a question for my own curiosity.
So he is IGM positive and IGG negative.
So this mean recent infection, right?
I don't have a copy of my own igenex test but I know I was positive for both igg and igm.
so any input for me on what my husband;s results indicate? I forgot how to read the igenex tes.

IgM means an
active
infection, not necessarily a recent one. With research still ongoing on all of this, things change from time to time.
It doesn't matter if the bands are IgM or IgG, they still mean the same things.
IND means Indeterminate - not negative, but not quite enough of a response to call it "fully positive".
The more + beside the band number means it that much more positive of a result.
Being specific for Lyme means that it does not cross react with other things. Some are being told that certain band will cross react with viruses, but I have seen nothing to indicate that- at least not yet. When I do, I will change how I interpret these results. Until then though, I will stick to what I have researched as there is a ton of misinformation out there, some even being spread by LLMDs!
When I say specific for Lyme, I mean specific for Bb - Borrelia Burgdorferi, ss (sensu stricto) - Lyme in the strictest sense. This is the one bacteria strain that most ID doc's base everything on - even though there are over 300 different strains of Borrelia in the world, many of which cause illness.
Band 23 - 25 - Osp C (Outer Surface Protein "C") with band 25 being specific for Lyme.
Band 31 - Osp A - Outer Surface Protein "A" - specific for Lyme.
Band 34- Osp B - specific for Lyme
Band 39 - Bmp A -Bacterial Membrane Protein "A" - specific to Lyme
Band 41 - Flagellin fragment - this is the tail of the bacteria, which can cross react with other spirochetal bacteria such as syphilis, Pintas and Yaws, Relapsing fever and others.
Band 83 - High molecular mass protein that is specific for Lyme
Band 93 - and immunodominant protoplasmic cylinder antigen - specific for Lyme.
Considering there is only one way that these bacteria can cause an immune response (to be inside of you), there should be little doubt that he has Lyme! Does he have symptoms?
I think I remember you saying in another post that he will be seeing your LLMD???? Is this correct?
At least he has you to help guide him through all of this!!

If IGG is negative why are there all the plus signs on the bands? To me he looks CDC positive but I'm no doctor.
Good luck with the appt, my hubby goes next Monday, he got a positive result months ago and has been doing the A-L complex but seems to be getting worse and sees that I am getting better so he is finally ready for antibiotics.
Keep us posted
