What to take depends on what you need. You dont mention any adrenal testing. And there are several ways your adrenals can be "off".
Conventional Drs. only recognize realy high(hyper) or realy low low(hypo) adrenal output via a blood test for early morning or late morning. If its low they prescribe Rx cortisol, a daily replacement steroid hormone for what some people are lacking. This should not be used or confused with someone needing adrenal "support".
Non-conventional Drs recognize the need for adrenal "support" . This need is determined by adrenal levels thru-out the day via 4 times in 24 hours using the 24 hr adrenal saliva test. This test looks at levels in AM, noon, late afternoon and PM.
Stressed adrenals that need "support" will be "off" a little (high and low depeding on the time )and are corrected by long term herbs and vitamins.
If you look up adrenal adaptogenic herbs, you will find something like 5 to 8 of these. Vit c and b's also help. Supplement companies offer mixtures of these herbs and some are combined with non-Rx bovine desiccated glandular adrenal - cortisol (its weaker than Rx). When these work you can feel the stress levels mellow out - your adrenals stop overreacting to stress when supported.
Its trial and error as to what adrenal support works for you- different effects on different people. Aswagonada is popular and so is Holy Basil.
Clear as mud?
Sounds good! One of my biggest problems is that small stressors completely overwhelm me when they never used to. I used to THRIVE under pressure..not so much anymore. I've never taken a test so I will now, hopefully this will make me feel better!
