2014 ILADS guidelines can mean health insurance coverage

Up until now insurance used CDC "peer reviewed" lyme treatment guidelines as an excuse not to cover in-network of even part of out-of-network ILADS style long term (over one month) Lyme treatment from LLMD's.

This could all change now. The 2014 ILADS guidelines was peer reviewed, medically accepted ect so now we have better grounds to base long term treatment when challenging lack of insurance coverage. It even mentions "clinical diagnosis". This means a positive lab test is not need to be diagnosed.

This could be used on your side with your state commerce, attorney general ect - who ever governs health insurance.

This is the first step.

If anyone mentioned this already, I did not see it.

FYI

Some states do have laws that were laid down so insurance covers. But the insc companies used the CDC method as a loop-hole, thus not covering long term.

Yes there are a few LLMD's that are in network, but even ones that arent, you now have more grounds of it partially covered by submitting on your own for out of network LLMD's.

Appeal laws very state to state, but now it might be worth the hassle, as you could get finally re$ults.

Happyjo - Well there you go...politicians have the power to help themselves. At least he did the right thing by going public and pushing a good lyme law. Pretty awesome!
