Great, I have all these fantastic mutations, 1298, 677 and CBS. Am I doomed or what? Do I need to see the Yasko protocol? Gotta love and hate genetics at the same time. I will say that some things do become clearer when you have your genetics analyzed. Like my vitamin D is always low and of course its because I have a mutation on my vitamin d receptor gene. Ah ha. Has anyone had a dramatic improvement when addressing their MTHFR mutations??

I was just diagnosed with the 1298 one. I just started a supplement called 5-mthf by Thorne. I know other people take methyl-guard by Thorne and it had good reviews on amazon.

I think having just one mutation is not so bad but 1298 and 677 is like doom and gloom. If you run your results through nutrahacker it tells you what supplements to avoid and what to take.

I have the A12 one, too. Started Methyl-Guard 5 wks ago, and the herxing has FINALLY started.

Not fun, but at least now all my work will actually be doing something.

All is NOT lost.

This is a great thing to learn about your body. Hang in there, one day at a time, and things will get better. You are connecting your dots and finding all the pieces to YOUR puzzle! Congratulations!

Sorry to hear this Louise, you have had a really hard time with the mold and now this but hopefully knowing now you can get on the proper supplements. I have the double 677 mutation and the 5-MTHF is expensive. Go slow when taking the sups, I didn't feel right after the first 2 weeks and had to back off and restart it.
