Still not sure what is what with me. I have times where I feel good and well and healthy. But in the past week my ears are hurting again, some pressure and massive tinnitus. Also my eyes feel kind of weak. My eyes got really bad with lyme, then got better but have remained not as good as before lyme. My ears have been one of my main lyme issues.
My other symptoms feel mostly gone. I am just so unsure about what is what with me. Some days I feel good, then the ears act up. today was a bad day ( is) for my ears.
So I don't know how to tell if it is lyme acting up, or if it is a side effect- scar- of lyme, or a scar of the antibiotics. I know the long use of antibiotics affected my nerves. So my ears may have had some nerve damage from that. The tinnitus started 6 months into the lyme or so- when I began antibitoics for the second time, after about 10 days of antibiotics.

So I am still not sure what is up but having a down moment. I had some good moments this week though.
Also, I ave eatedn gluten a few times since stopping abx- just 2 sm pieces of bread two days and a very small bowl of gluten full cereal one day. Don't know if that is making it worse.

Dr said call at 2 weeks if I have symptoms. See dr in a little over 2 weeks. so not sure what to do.
I started today some lipoflavanoids which some ppl say help with tinnitus. Dr also gave me an herbal antihistamine to try- tried it a few days months ago but not lately.

Hi Kate... In my opinion it is the infection in those places... Your ears, and eyes.

I have the same issues... Well had an issue with it in my eyes, but also have the same issue with tinnitus. But for me the tinnitus is rare happening once a month or less often. Most of your issues are resolved because lyme was treated and now finished in those areas.

Hope you feel better! I am literally stuck at feeling 90% well. I have many periods of feeling 100%, but it just keeps coming back. I have it in my brain, upper spine, left eye nerve, and my tendons. It's like the disease comes back to life from the dead or something. Although it is nowhere nearly as bad as back in December-March.

The thing that scares me... If you stay off abx for a certain amount of time, the disease builds back it's layers and gets stronger. I haven't been able to come off the abx for more than 3 days. I pretty much won't until it is done. I wonder if our antibiotics made the disease build stronger cyst forms? Who knows.

I just don't understand the whole thing.
I don't understand if it is supposed to be eradicated or not.
If it is still the infection then why would it be in certain places but not in others, and why would the treatment not get rid of it
It is all so confusing and frustrating.

I just don't know what is what. I guess I will call the dr in 2 days and ask. I have to leave a msg with the receptionist. But really I see the dr in 2 wks so until then I just have ot see day by day what arises.

Treatment should continue until you are well and have no symptoms at all. That is what I think.

I seem to be feeling better than when I posted. Still have the tinnitus. Overall I fell mostly good, then I just get flare up times of ear stuff.

I am really not sure what I think. I think I will check in with my dr this week.
Meanwhile, I am continuing to treat with herbals since I stopped the abx.

I am not sure how to tell what is lyme and what is other things. Luckily my dr can help with this.

I mean, I tend to be not that stoic. So I notice every little thing that feels wrong. I want to make sure I am not over analyzing everything and go back on strong abx without being sure.

I still don't understand how lyme could be treated effectively in the body but still linger in the ears? Seems like the long use of abx would get to the ears too?

Lyme is so confusing. Anyway, I am still trying to be optimistic. Other than the ears issues and my vision sometimes not great, I feel okay. so at least there is that.

Amoxicillin actually does a great job of treating lyme in the ears. Maybe try that? It is probably one of the least toxic antibiotics that there is. When peoples kidneys start failing from cephalosporins or clarithromycin, people are often put on amoxicillin to hold them while their kidneys get better. Maybe ask for amoxi for a bit ? Very very non toxic antibiotic. (Besides the fact that it kills healthy bacteria in your guy)

For some reason I have had very minimal symptoms in my ears. I even read some abx can have ear side effects.

yeah, thanks for the advice. I just need to see how this thing plays out and continue to try to be optimistic. I see my dr often- once a month, so I do get chances to check in. I want to give it more time to see how things develop before changing anything right now. Over all I have been fairly happy with how I feel for the last 12 days, other than the ears. But my ears have been bothering me for a while. also it feels different than the original ear issues- when I had the full lyme I would get lots of pressure in one ear at a tie, and lots of wax in the ear. And it felt like I wanted to clear the ears but they wouldn't clear. Now it feels more like equal in both ears and less pressure, more like just agitated or inflamed. Anyway, thanks for the ideas and I am just gonna keep on the herbals now till I talk to my dr, and also give myself more time to really asses things.
