no coincidences

I no longer believe in coincidences...

Today's example:

I had to go to the hospital today, husband dropped me off before he had to go to work, and I took public transport to get back home. I have to change busses halfway, and this woman who comes standing next to me says, totally out of the blue 'I need the bus to come cause I have a dr's appointment, but it's just for surgery, my sister though, she has real problems, she got bitten by a tick and is really sick'

We started talking: the sister was bitten en developped symptoms really quickly. She's only getting 1 month of abx. I gave her my dr's contact info and my number in case she needs more information.

And this is not the first time that things like this happen...

I don't envy that sister. My Lyme was at it's worst right after surgery. I sure hope she gives your Dr. a call!!

In Canada, we don't know the "real" number because we don't have LLMD's to document. I am one of the few whose PCP actually asked for a copy of the Igenex report and has accepted the Lyme diagnosis. But, for the majority of us, it's not accepted and we don't know the number of cases.
And even tho mine is in the "system", it's probably not considered valid because:
A) It wasn't CDC positive- only Igenex positive
B) The Canadian lab didn't even do the West Blot as the Elisa was negative. (Two-tiered approach)

I'm glad your paths crossed. Hopefully she took you seriously and will call you for more information. Then you can suggest that she should join this group to learn more. :)
