rolleyes I AM HERXING LIKE CRAZY SINCE STARTING DOXY,BUT TODAY IT IS MOVED INSIDE MY HEAD.WHILE MAKING A LIST I HAD NOT ONLY TROUBLE HOLDING MY PEN BUT MAKING THE WORDS COME OUT THE RIGHT.I AM HAVING JERKY ARMS AND LEGS AND SHORT TERM MEMORY IS SHOT.THAT AND THIS STRANGE SKIN RASHES.DOES ANYONE RELATE TO THIS.PLUS THE STRANGE FRONTAL HEADACHES.

I switched to doxy 4 weeks ago and it made me feel much worse! My fatigue, weakness, and anxiety ALL got way worse! I lasted 3 weeks on the doxy and then switched back over to minocycline. It took about 3 days off the doxy to feel better.

I'm not sure if that was a herx, since it lasted 3 solid weeks, or if I just can't tolerate doxy. Detoxing didn't help me at all.

I can relate for sure. Doxy was absolute hell for me but is has been the one ABX that I see the most improvement on. I can say I have been through all those as well and it's not fun. I really sympathize with you, hang in there!!!!. It's all worth it when the clouds start to clear just a little and you start to see the sun peak through.

I felt better on doxy within 4 days of starting it. My extreme dizziness went away and I could walk normally again. But I did get daily frontal headaches right away and needed to sleep a lot when first starting it.

The thing that really struck me was that I couldn't predict how it would make me feel. Some mornings it would make me really sick and I'd have to sleep off the nausea to avoid vomiting. Some days I felt great and almost normal, like no lyme symptoms at all.

Right now I'm having a lapse in medical coverage and haven't refilled my second month's prescription. Symptoms are back immediately, just not as bad as before the doxy.

See how long you can stand it, and then you may have to switch meds like Utahgal experienced.

Hi Cairn!

A lot of what you are describing sounds like a herx. Definitely up the detoxing, drinking lots of water, some use alka seltzer gold, epsom/peroxide baths. That should help. How long have you been on doxy for?

Hope you get some time for some r and r in!

Also, you might get a few more responses without the caps. We have a lot of members here with bad eyes that have mentioned caps locks makes it hard to read!
