Soooo.... lyme loves scar tissue. No wonder the last 3 surgeries I've had I healed horribly even though I did everything right. Anyone else have a c section or any major surgeries while infected and have a story to share?

My daughter was slow to heal after her appendectomy several years ago. At least they were small incisions.

I'll have to ask her since I don't think she'd appreciate me checking her belly. :) It was several years ago, before she was diagnosed, so I don't remember other than it seemed to take to long to heal.

I had surgery in April not knowing I had Lyme disease - and my scars are more inflamed than they should be - I don't care about
the look - just concerned if there are adhesions on the inside that I can't see.

The incisions made for my IV port and catheter healed quickly but they look/feel thick underneath—kind of puckered.

All of my stomach surgeries left massive adhesions that require more surgery. My uterus is attached to my stomach wall and that's all attached to my bladder. The surgeon said he'd never seen anyone heal so weird or seen adhesions that big. Sucks. When I'm done with this Lyme stuff I'll have it all fixed, why bother doing it now if it's going to heal wrong anyway.

I have had primary arthrofibrosis left knee since early 1980's. I was diagnosed with Lyme in 2011 and have had 4 surgeries on knee from Dec 2012 through April 2014. Prior to contracting Lyme I was able to get inflammation under control with NSAIDS and ice; however, not anymore. My knee is in a constant state of inflammation which creates even more adhesions. It is completely frozen. My patellar is totally bound down and knee doesn't bend and won't straighten when I am weight bearing. Extremely painful.

Im so sorry ValentineBaby! Hopefully when the Lyme clears up you will gain back some mobility. I got this stuff from my doc called "Lyme Rub" and its for joints and has really helped me. Maybe ask your doc for something like that- maybe it will keep it from getting too much worse?
