I feel worse than ever today.
5 or 6 wks ago at the end of abx treatment I felt pretty good. 2 weeks into break from abx I didn't feel sick, but anxiety came back. Then fatigue.
Started abx again 10 days ago and within a few days anxiety got better but still fatigue.
But then last few days just been feeling SICK again. Yesterday took rifampin for first time in 6 weeks. Today woke up sicker than ever---
exhausted, dizzy, heart feeling like it had a lot of pressure in it, ears loud and hurting, foggy and generally unwell. Slept all day so far and havent' taken any medicine yet. So scared and overwhelmed.

I recognize that as well! The first sign is a strange anxiety. The body tells us that the spirochete is entering the blood and starting a multiply period. My guess.

Glad to hear your medication is working. Hope you get past this herx soon.

I won't take the rifampin again till after I talk to my dr next week. I will stay on the doxy and malarone this week.

then, I am waiting for my herbals to arrive. So at that point I don't know if I should keep on antibotics and the herbals, or just stop the antibiotics and do herbals? what do you all think?

Feeling a little better thank goodness. Not great but not like this morning. My child is in school and I don't have a job so luckily when he is in school these days I just sleep all day. So I slept until almost 1:00 and now am just eating and getting ready to toake my doxy and malarone. I still feel bad but not the overwhelming awfulness of this morning.

I always feel worse in the morning as well. I usually start to turn the corner in the afternoon, and feel the best in the evening. Only to wake up feeling awful the next morning.

Utah- lately I have been feeling really tired when I first wake up and have to get ready for school and go go go-- ( I am not a morning person anyway) but then pretty good in the morning, then tired in the afternoon.

Today was just a doozy- I am guessing because of the rifampin yesterday. ugh. I had been on rifampin for 4 or 5 months prior to taking a break- every single day, and no longer herxed from it.

I am just hoping the herbals are what can get me better, and I will stay longer on abx too if I have to. I don't know what my doctor will say about the herbal protocol.
It is weird because I had thought of him as knowing more than anyone about how to heal lyme, and felt very happy to be in such good hands. I know he would up the abx doses- and at one point in my treatment he told me to add suprex- which is a strong abx, but I was reluctant to and then got better without it so we didn't do it. I still don't want to do that either.
I would much rather stay on the lower doses of abx and add a longer term herbal treatment before jumping ahead into something more drastic like very high abx doses.
